'Battlestar Galactica' Remake Gets 'Assassin's Creed' Scribe

The upcoming ‘Battlestar Galactica’ series is moving ahead as the show secures Michael Lesslie who previously penned the script for the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ movie.
    May 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – The new “Battlestar Galactica” series has been fast-tracked with “Assassin’s Creed” screenwriter Michael Lesslie signing on.
Lesslie, who also wrote the spy drama “The Little Drummer Girl”, will join “Mr. Robot” and “Homecoming” executive producer Sam Esmail for the much-anticipated small screen venture.
“I am beyond excited to be taking on this iconic and inspirational show,” Lesslie said in a statement. “As a lifelong devotee, I know that the possibilities of Battlestar Galactica’s world are infinite and that each iteration has raised the bar for epic and intelligent sci-fi storytelling.”
“Battlestar Galactica” began life as a 1978 film. A spin-off series launched the same year. A second series ran from 2004 to 2009 and followed a group of humans on the verge of extinction amid a robot war.

Report: 'RHOA' to Axe Cast Members Eva Marcille and Cynthia Bailey

    BET

In related news, Eva allegedly ‘felt disrespected’ during a heated fight at ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 12 reunion, which will air on Sunday, May 10.
    May 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” reportedly is making a huge casting change for its new season. A new report suggests that the Bravo honchos decide to fire not only one, but two cast members, Eva Marcille and Cynthia Bailey.
“Cynthia and Eva’s storylines were the weakest. We knew there was going to be a change going forward, bring in new Housewives and get rid of [some] old ones,” an executive reveals to MTO News. The insider notes that “it’s important to constantly refresh the cast with new blood.”
Additionally, the source debunks rumors about NeNe Leakes leaving the show. “No Nene is not getting fired. She’s the best part of the show,” claims the source.
When asked about when the show will officially fire Eva and Cynthia, the source explains, “They’ll be notified the final decision after the reunion show airs, until then, they have no idea that they’re [likely] out of a job.”
Despite that, the executive hints at the “slight” possibility that the show will keep one or both of them on the show, especially if the Coronavirus quarantine continues. But for now, it is assumed that season 12 is the last season for both Eva and Cynthia.
In related news, Eva allegedly “felt disrespected” during a heated fight at ‘RHOA” reunion, which will air on Sunday, May 10. “Eva Marcille came in hard at the reunion, which surprised a lot of people,” a source told HollywoodLife.com. “There were rumors that she may lose her peach, but after the reunion, that would be surprising.”
“Eva was probably the most loud and vocal about her feelings out of anyone, which really caught a lot of people off guard, including the cast,” the source went on to say. “Nobody thought she’d play that hard, but she definitely came to play! She’ll be at the center of many heated discussions. Some of the things the ladies were saying, particularly NeNe [Leakes], really bothered Eva and she was so happy that she finally got the chance to address people face-to-face. She felt disrespected.”

'The Bachelor: LTYH' Recap: 2 Couples Eliminated at the End of the Episode

    ABC/John Fleenor

In the new episode of the spin-off series of ABC’s ‘The Bachelor’, the remaining six couples will be paired with someone from another couple to test their relationships.
    May 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart” returned with a new episode on Monday, May 4. In this episode, the remaining six couples would be paired with someone from another couple to test their relationships.
Julia and Brandon were the ones who went on a date. They visited The Roxy, where they wrote a song together. The two bounded at the beginning of the season before Brandon eventually picked Savannah. Them going on a date together understandably made Savannah and Julia’s partner Sheridan worried.
Later during their date, Julia and Brandon performed the song they wrote beforehand. They felt the chemistry between them growing up as they locked lips. Julia was convinced with her feelings for him and when she returned to the house, she told Sheridan about it. He was upset but he was left with no choice other than leaving the show. Savannah also left after a heartbreaking conversation with Brandon.
Chris & Rudi and Jamie & Ryan then went on dates. Chris, whose partner was Bri, had a nice date with Rudi but there were no sparks between them. As for Jamie and Ryan, they went to enjoy a spa day as friends.
Later, the remaining five couples performed in front of the celebrity judges including Rachel Lindsay, Bryan Abasolo, Andy Grammer and Toni Braxton. Before that, Natascha caused a drama between Brandon and Julia by telling Julia that Brandon would have stayed with Savannah if she didn’t leave.
The first couple to perform was Rudi and Matt, who sang “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton. The two earned praises for their vocals and chemistry. Following it up were Jamie and Trevor who performed “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” by Meghan Trainor and John Legend. The judges noted that Jamie looked nervous while Trevor didn’t seem to be as passionate as Jamie throughout the performance.
Chris and Bri then performed “Lover” by Taylor Swift. They showcased strong chemistry which earned them praises from the judges. At the end of their performance, Bri confessed to Chris, who told her that he felt the same.
Julia and Brandon then hit the stage to sing Pat Benatar’s “We Belong”. Following the drama, they looked “disjointed” during the performance with Toni saying that she could feel the tension between them. The last performers were Natascha and Ryan, who opted to sing Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are the Best Thing”. The judges loved it.
Julia then lashed out at Natascha, accusing her of being “vindictive and dirty” for choosing to tell Julia about Savannah right before the performance. Natascha apologized to Julia.
At the rose ceremony, Chris and Bri were revealed to be safe. Joining them were Matt & Rudi, Natascha & Ryan and Jamie & Trevor. That meant Brandon and Julia were sent home.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Teases Possibility of Mini-Movie for 'The Walking Dead'

    Instagram

Production on season 10 of the hit series has been axed because of the coronavirus crisis, but the actor playing Negan could not help but be excited for the upcoming special episode.
    May 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jeffrey Dean Morgan hinted “The Walking Dead”‘s upcoming “special” episode could be more like a mini-movie, after production on season 10 of the show was axed due to the coronavirus crisis.
Nothing has been filmed for the new series as yet, and now there’s a “special” episode planned for later in the year – which Jeffrey told Entertainment Weekly could be more like a one-off feature.
“It will be cool having a one off, almost a Walking Dead movie in the middle of the season, I guess,” he mused. “So we’re excited about that aspect of it.”
He added that the season finale has to have “some sort of a resolution… whether that carries over to next season, I’ll leave that open, because who knows?.”
“But we know (Jeffrey’s character Negan is) coming to wipe everybody out with his zombie horde so hopefully we’ll see that come to a head at some point,” he continued. “There has to be some sort of battle. Greg Nicotero directed it, so it’s going to be a big massive episode for sure.”
Jeffrey and wife Hilarie Burton are working on their own talk show while in lockdown together. The weekly half-hour Friday Night In with the Morgans airs Fridays at 10 pm in the U.S.
