Watch This: John Krasinski’s Feel-Good Take on the News

John Krasinski — who gave us the all-purpose incredulous stare as Jim Halpert on “The Office” and who currently plays the C.I.A. analyst Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime’s political thriller by the same name — could be considered an unlikely YouTube star.As the actor says, smiling, on an episode of his new show, “Some Good News,” “for someone who only just got off dial-up this week, this whole internet thing continues to be a constant source of surprise and living nightmares.”It’s precisely this truth that led him to create “Some Good News,” a weekly roundup of genuinely inspiring content culled from the hellscape that is social media. Seated in front of a colorful sign made by his young daughters bearing the letters S-G-N, Mr. Krasinski presents heartening scenes, such as an I.C.U. team forming a conga line to celebrate a patient being taken off a ventilator or an elderly couple singing together, separated by a closed window; special correspondents like the actors Steve Carell and Brad Pitt discuss entertainment and the weather. (“Looks, uh, pretty good,” Mr. Pitt reports.)And, importantly these days, Mr. Krasinski also uses his celebrity power for good. For example, he, along with the former Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, sent members of the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Covid-19 Unit in Boston to revel in an empty Fenway Park (spoiler alert: The episode culminates with the announcement that AT&T is offering nurses and doctors three months of free service). Most recently, Mr. Krasinski threw a live-streamed prom for the class of 2020 — a recap of which was included on “SGN” — featuring performances by the Jonas Brothers and Billie Eilish. “Some Good News” is worth watching to find out what happens next, and a balm for these screen-filled times. What’s on TV Wednesday: ‘Normal People’ and a Virtual Play

What’s StreamingNORMAL PEOPLE Stream on Hulu. In one of their first scenes together, Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal), the Irish teenagers at the center of this series, have a conversation about that most weighty of adolescent subjects: their school grades. “You’re smarter than me,” Connell says. Marianne’s reply comes quickly, in a matter-of-fact tone: “Smarter than everyone,” she says. Based on the best-selling novel by Sally Rooney, “Normal People” follows the pair as they ricochet through an on-again, off-again romantic relationship. Their bond highlights issues of social class, as the pair — one wealthy, one poor — move from secondary school to university. In his review for The New York Times, James Poniewozik called the series “a complex study of power wrapped up in a heartfelt teen soap.”A SECRET LOVE (2020) Stream on Netflix. Lovers from a different generation look back at their life together in this moving documentary. The film profiles the professional baseball player Terry Donahue and Pat Henschel, two women who for decades kept their romantic partnership largely hidden, but were finally liberated from that secrecy late in life.WHAT DO WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT?: CONVERSATIONS ON ZOOM Stream on Publictheater.org. The playwright Richard Nelson first introduced the Apples, a fictional middle-class American family, in 2010, when the Public Theater staged “That Hopey Changey Thing.” That play saw the members of the Apple clan gather around a dinner table on the evening of the 2010 midterm elections. (The timing was real; it was actually the evening of the midterm elections.) The Public staged sequels in 2011, 2012 and 2013, with each play set around the same dinner table. But the family and their audience will have a different setup in this new addition to the cycle, in which the characters trade the dinner table for a Zoom conference call, and audience members swap the Public Theater for their laptop screens. Set in 2020, the play finds the family members catching up remotely, with the eldest Apple sister, Barbara (played by Maryann Plunkett), recovering from severe Covid-19 symptoms. It will be performed through a livestream beginning at 7:30 p.m. “It’s a way to embrace the moment,” Jay O. Sanders, who plays Barbara’s brother, Richard, said in a recent interview with The Times. “This play isn’t saying, ‘Let’s pretend we’re in a theater.’ This is saying: ‘OK, we’re at home. Let’s do this at home.’”What’s on TVNATURE: SPY IN THE WILD 2 8 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). 'RHOP' Star Robyn Dixon on Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard's Fight: It's One-Sided Attack

    Instagram

During a joint Instagram Live with co-star Gizelle Bryant, Robyn discusses Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard’s infamous brawl which results in Monique being charged with second-degree assault.
    Apr 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Season 5 of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” may be postponed, but Bravo star Robyn Dixon offers fans a taste of what drama that viewers can expect in the new season. During a joint Instagram Live with co-star Gizelle Bryant, the two discussed Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard’s infamous brawl.
“The season was- was this a fun season? Did we have fun? I feel like we had a lot of fun- I think. It was a doozy! It was just a lot going on, y’all!” said Gizelle during the livestream.
“It was a lot going. Like, a lot more than what was in the trailer. That’s the crazy part!” Robyn responded. She later said, “I think the attack- I’m not even gonna call it a fight, ’cause it was one-sided. I think the attack took over. Like, that was what everyone focused on in the trailer. But a lot happened before, after- I think the whole season is gonna be entertaining….”
Robyn didn’t name names but it was highly likely that she was talking about the physical fight involving Monique and Candiace. The assault resulted in Monique being charged with second-degree assault from the District Court of Montgomery County in Maryland for attacking Candiace.
Candiance reportedly filed a complaint against the 36-year-old star with the commissioner of the District Court of Montgomery County in Maryland on November 7, 2019. Monique is scheduled to appear in court on December 23 and should a judge agree there’s probable cause at the hearing, then the wife of NFL star Chris Samuels could be facing jail time. If convicted she can be sentenced up to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $2,500.
The physical altercation between Monique and Candiace took place during the filming of forthcoming season 5 when the Housewives were all at a vineyard while drinking wine. The two, who have been beefing for years, later got into an argument and things shortly escalated into a physical fight.
“Candiace allegedly threw a drink in Monique’s face and Monique then ‘drug her a**,’ ” claimed a person close to the Bravo reality show. “Monique ‘boxed’ Candiace up and Candiace was NOT ready. And Monique pulled out her weave too.”
It was said that Candiace was injured following the brawl, asking producers to call police. When authorities arrived to the scene, she told them that she planned to press charges on Monique for assault. While it wasn’t know what injuries that Candiace suffered from the fight, report stated that she asked for medical assistance which she later received.

Katie Couric Criticizes Jennifer Aniston's 'Morning Show' Character

    WENN

According to the former host of ‘Today’, the onscreen character reportedly modelled on her should be more ‘charismatic’ on the Apple web television series.
    Apr 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Katie Couric, the former host of America’s “Today” show, has broken her silence about Jennifer Aniston’s character in Apple+ series “The Morning Show”, which many believe is based on her.
The series, which also stars Reese Witherspoon, premiered in November 2019. It features a fictional character rumoured to be modelled on Couric.
“I thought some of it was really interesting,” Katie said of the drama during a recent appearance on the podcast “Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino”.
“I think the long-term impact and the serious devastation that results from certain behaviours was quite well represented, or quite well conveyed in that.”
“I think Jennifer Aniston is great… (but) I wish they had made her more charismatic because I think you need a certain ebullience to pull off a show like that.”

Report: MTV Wants to Make Tory Lanez's 'Quarantine Radio' a TV Show

    Instagram

This arrives after Instagram blocked the Instagram Live series for a few days as its honcho explained, ‘you can’t have nudity on Instagram. That’s part of our community guidelines, it’s part of the rules.’
    Apr 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tory Lanez’s popular Instagram Live series “Quarantine Radio” may be coming to the small screen. The “Chixtape 5” rapper revealed in a new interview with Billboard that MTV approached him to offer him a deal for the show.
“MTV offered me something like a little 30-minute segment, but I don’t know what I want to do,” he shared. “But I want it to be something that the fans decide. If I end up coming up with an idea for it, hopefully, it’ll be on MTV.”
“Quarantine Radio” is indeed a huge success as it brings entertainment for everyone amid Coronavirus lockdown. It garnered so much attention as his 5-min interview with Drake pulled in 300K users tuning in at the same time. In addition to interviews, the Instagram Live show features twerk sessions, contests and celebrity cameos.
Despite the success, Tory was forced to take a break from it after Instagram blocked her show earlier this month. Speaking to The Shade Room in an Instagram Live interview, head of Instagram Adam Mosseri shared on Wednesday, April 8, ” ‘Quarantine Radio’ is great, so shout out to Tory Lanez for that.” He continued, “The lives have been great, the lives with the fans have been great.”
In the comment section, the Canadian rapper chimed in, “I JUST WANNA BE FREE ADAM.” Adam didn’t seem to notice as he went on explaining, “But you can’t have nudity on Instagram. That’s part of our community guidelines, it’s part of the rules and we can’t make exceptions.”
“And on a couple of those lives, on two accounts, there was nudity so we had to stop the live. There’s a short period of time where you can’t go live again. We have to stick to the rules otherwise why do we have them?” he continued. “But generally, big fan of Tory Lanez, big fan of Quarantine Radio. I hope it comes back soon, but no nudity! We can’t have that.”
Tory wasn’t satisfied with the answer. “THAT’S CAP,” he alleged in another comment. “Cmooooooon MAAAAAYNE.”
Tory shared on Tuesday, April 7 a screenshot of warning that he reveiced from the photo-sharing site when he was about to go on Instagram Live. “Based on previous use of this feature, your account has been temporarily blocked from taking this action. This block will expire on 2020-04-14. We restrict certain content and actions to protect our community. Tell us if you think we made a mistake,” read the warning.
“350K I can’t go on right now they won’t let me. …. THEY DIDNT WANT ME TO WIN DAMN B,” so Tory captioned the snap. He added in the comment section, “THAT GUMMY BEAR WAS TOO MUCH I GUESS,” referring to a fan who deep-throated the world’s largest gummy bear on his previous Instagram Live.

'90 Day Fiance' Star Jorge Nava Hopes for New Love After Anfisa Arkhipchenko Divorce

    TLC

The TLC personality, who is currently serving two and a half-year sentence after being arrested for marijuana possession in 2018, also shares other things in his ‘priority list.’
    Apr 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – His failed marriage to Anfisa Arkhipchenko doesn’t make “90 Day Fiance” star Jorge Nava lose hope for a new romance. The TV star, who is currently serving two and a half-year sentence after being arrested for marijuana possession in 2018, shared in a new interview that he wants to find love again after being released from prison.
“One of the first things I had to deal with was leaving my family and leaving my relationship behind. That was hard. That was very difficult,” he said in an interview from prison during the Monday, April 27, episode of “90 Day Fiance: Self-Quarantined”. “The last time I saw Anfisa was the day before I got incarcerated. The night before I came to prison, we had an argument and things were not going well. I thought I was going to try to make things work, and they didn’t. That was it.”
“Probably about two months after I was in prison, she basically told me that she couldn’t be with me anymore. She wishes I got 12 years in prison, basically trying to get rid of me,” the California native shared. “We still talked on the phone. I tried to work on the relationship no matter what. I tried.”
Jorge, who is set to get out of the Arizona State Complex in Phoenix, Arizona, in 26 days, went on to say that he’s “open to looking for love again.” However, he added that “love is the least of my priority list.” He explained, “I just have to get my life together and make sure I’m good as a person before I’m able to give somebody else something.”
“I ended up finding out through the internet that she was with somebody else. That definitely hurt. It really broke my heart,” he said. “The last time I spoke with Anfisa, she asked me if I knew already that she was with somebody else. I told her I did know and as soon as I get released from prison, I’m going to file for divorce. At least now, I’m stronger mentally. I’m stronger emotionally. I’ve gone through a lot of changes here in prison.”
Jorge and Anfisa got married in season 4 of the TLC show. In a previous interview, the 31-year-old revealed that his drastic weight loss is what led to their decision to go separate ways. “I think she was just jealous of the attention that I was getting,” he alleged.
“The news about my weight loss didn’t sit with her very well,” he continued. “That’s when she blocked my phone calls and I kind of was starting to lose contact with her,” he added, noting that his estranged wife waited until “the day after” he posted about his weight loss to say that “it was over.”

'The Bachelor: LTYH' Recap: 7 Couples Show Off Talent and Chemistry in Musical Performances

    ABC

In the new episode, the remaining couples are hitting the stage to perform in front of special guests, including ‘The Bachelorette’ alum JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers, Ke$ha and Jason Mraz.
    Apr 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Bachelor Present: Listen to Your Heart” returned with a new episode on Monday, April 27. In the new outing, the contestants were told that they would be performing for special guests, including “The Bachelorette” alum JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers, Ke$ha and Jason Mraz. The couples would be judged on their chemistry as well as their perfomance with the judges deciding who got to stay in the competition.
In the episode, Julia confronted Brandon after he picked Savannah at the rose ceremony even though he previously told Julia that he wanted to be with her. Brandon explained to her that he knew Sheridan would give his rose to Julia so he wanted to give a chance to Savannah. He assured Julia that he still wanted to pursue their relationship. Meanwhile, Savannah was starting to doubt Brandon.
Meanwhile, Gabe was interested in Savannah but unfortunately his feelings weren’t reciprocated. After she let him know about it, it meant Gabe was ready to go home. He told Ruby who later decided to exit the show together with him.
Savannah later confronted Brandon about what Julia told her. He apologized for not conveying his real feelings earlier, telling her that he wanted to move forward with her. Julia was upset when she knew about it, but then she planned to focus on her and Sheridan’s relationship. With that, the remaining 7 couples were Savannah/Brandon, Julia/Sheridan, Bri/Chris, Jamie/Trevor, Matt/Rudi, Danny/Bekah and Ryan/Natascha.
Savannah and Brandon grew stronger day by day and that was distracting Julia. She thought that they were faking their chemistry and even accused Savannah of being “disingenuous.” Feeling equally pissed at Julia, Savannah called her “catty and insecure” in confessional.
Prior to the performances, Danny and Bekah went on a date during which they had a sexy photo shoot. Later, Natascha and Ryan met Chris Lane and his wife Lauren Bushnell. The couple joined Chris in a performance at his sold-out show.
The night where the couples hit the stage to perform later arrived. First up were Matt and Rudi, who opted to sing Shawn Mendes’ “Falling All In You”. Following it up were Chris and Bri who performed a “beautiful” rendition of “Beyond” by Leon Bridges. Meanwhile, the judges saw Bekah and Danny, who sang “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers, as “just friends” rather than a couple after Bekah turned down his kiss at the end of their performance.
Also not showing great chemistry was Savannah and Brandon, who took the stage to perform “I Want You to Want Me” by Cheap Trick. As for Julia and Sheridan, who sang “As Long as You Love Me” by the Backstreet Boys, the judges noted that the two had a sense of comfort and connection.
Natascha and Ryan were unrivaled in terms of both talent and chemistry with their performance of Rihanna’s “Stay”. Concluding the night, Jamie and Trevor sang “I Could Use a Love Song” by Maren Morris.
At the rose ceremony, every couple got a rose from the judges except for Danny and Bekah. That meant the two were eliminated.

Jodie Comer on Her Killer Beauty Regimen

Killer acting role leads to killer skin care? Not exactly, but both are true for Jodie Comer, who is known for her role as the sociopathic but charismatic assassin Villanelle on the darkly comic “Killing Eve,” just back for Season 3. These days, Ms. Comer, 27, is sheltering in place with her family in Liverpool, England, where she grew up. Hear what she’s putting on and also cooking up.Caffeine FirstFor me, it’s definitely coffee before anything. I treated myself to an espresso machine recently, and it’s changed my world. I read a little bit. Then at some point, I get up and wash my face and kind of do what I’d be doing anyway if I was going to a day’s work.Getting Into Her SkinWhen I was in high school, I literally used to baby wipe my face. I’m mortified to admit this. Through my late teens, I was a big makeup girl. I was born in Liverpool, and I don’t know if you know this, but the girls here and in Manchester and Essex too, we love our makeup. I mean the full get-up. So much effort goes into all that. I loved it — the eyes, the full face. That was definitely me.Skin care wasn’t something I thought about much until a friend introduced me to a facialist in London, Jasmina Vico. It was through Jasmina that I became educated about the importance of skin care and how it can signal what’s going on in your body. Like now, I recently changed my contraceptive, and my skin has gone crazy. I didn’t realize how much hormones can freak out.I’ve always had kind of good skin — I’m really lucky. Now, it’s like, Whoa! I know, I know, I’m trying to not be a drama queen. Being indoors so much more probably doesn’t help and disturbs everything a bit. I think there’s something to letting the sun be on skin. The New RoutineNow I’m on a routine with a step-by-step with Noble Panacea products. The brand approached me, and I liked how the products complement one another. I particularly like the eye cream and the serum. I find the serum kind of great if you’re working out. I have oily combination skin, and I don’t want anything heavy on my skin when I work out, but I don’t want it feeling dry either. The serum hydrates just enough. And the moisturizer has such a gorgeous consistency. It feels like there’s a thin layer that continues to moisturize all day. I try to exfoliate once a week. I use the Clarisonic tool with the different brushes. I usually do that on Sunday.Makeup CleanseThe film I was doing went on hiatus. When I came back home to Liverpool, I cleaned all of my makeup brushes. I’m waiting for the day when we can all go out and party together again. The brushes, they are ready to go!Right now, I’ve just given up. I haven’t worn makeup for the past couple of weeks. I have no shame on Zoom meetings either. When I’m on sets, they’re constantly reapplying makeup. It’s kind of nice to let my skin breathe. That’s my excuse at least! In more regular daily life, I love Hourglass. You just can’t go wrong. I love the foundation sticks. They have a thick consistency, but I put it on the back of my hand and then put it on with my finger tips. I also have the highlighting palette. That’s always good for giving me the illusion of a healthy glow. I get them here at Space NK.I was very lucky that Pat McGrath sent me some of her products when I met her last year. I love her mascara, and there’s a lipstick in a color called Love Supreme. The shade is very close to my natural color but a little bit more pink. Otherwise, Nars lip crayons, they’re always a good go-to.I used to buy crazy colored lipsticks. When I was out of work when I was younger, I actually did a makeup class in Liverpool. I just hoarded makeup then. Now I’m just into giving my natural lip a boost. What Does Killer Makeup Look Like? When I think of Villanelle, I think comfort above everything. For her, makeup is not a necessity. So for her look, it’s natural and simple, day to day, and then she experiments with the other personas she inhabits. But more often than not, when I rewatch something, I’ll think, “Oh God, that makeup feels too much.” I don’t think she would be into upkeep. I don’t think she has the time to take out a lip liner and reapply.FragranceI wear Le Labo Santal 33. I feel like everyone in the universe wears it now. But it smells different on each person — or so I want to think! I definitely copied off an actress I worked with. We would ride the lift every day, and I would smell it on her, and it would be that amazing smell. But we’re all copying each other. I have no shame in admitting.Gym TimeI do Pilates with my trainer David Higgins. He’s in London, so we just do a FaceTime call. I need someone to make sure I’m not slacking. Also, we have a little makeshift gym in the back of my parents’ house. We’re all making appointments for it — it’s good fun.Or I just use these elastic bands that I have for travel. And I have a foam roller. If I just stretch out and roll my back and legs, I feel like it releases so much tension. It’s satisfying to hear all the clicks on your back — it’s like I’m a new woman. Otherwise, I’m just taking walks, really. What Diet?I just had six chocolate digestive biscuits! I’m having one of those days. I did download the Deliciously Ella app. They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian recipes, and me and my mum have been trying them. What I’ve realized during this time is how much I enjoy cooking. If I’m working long hours, I can’t be bothered. It’s the first thing that goes. There’s a place in London called Detox Kitchen, and the lady who owns it has been doing little Stories on Instagram on how to make a meal of what’s left in your fridge. You can also make the meals and stick them in the fridge or freezer — although there are four of us in the house, so nothing really makes it to the freezer.Chocolates are big. It was just Easter. We have so many mini eggs. I don’t know if you have them, but they are just so good. The weird, crazy, bizarre thing when you’re off work is that you lose track of time. We might be half into the day and it’s sunny out and we’re like, “Should we have some wine?” It’s like, “No!”You can’t do that every day, but there is really no right or wrong. The Pilates keeps me sane, but then so does the chocolate. Just do what you need to do in the moment. More
