Sofia Richie Says No More to 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' Appearances

    WENN/Avalon

The girlfriend of Scott Disick, who made her debut on the reality series in 2019, explains why she won’t be on the show anymore when met at the opening of Marcell Von Berlin’s flagship store.
    Feb 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Sofia Richie has ruled out any more appearances on the next series of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, because she wants to transition to acting.
As the girlfriend of Kourtney Kardashian’s ex Scott Disick, Sofia made a brief appearance on the family’s E! reality show last season. However, in a chat with Entertainment Tonight at the opening of designer Marcell Von Berlin’s flagship store in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February, 04, Sofia explained further cameos are unlikely.
Asked why she won’t be making any more appearances on the series, Sofia replied, “Well, because I want to get into acting! I feel like, for a while, I kind of held back on things because I was afraid of failure, but 2020 is (the year of) no fear! I’m gonna be doing acting stuff really soon.”
“Great things are happening and I’m really excited about it.”
The 21-year-old model made her debut on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” in October (2019), when she joined Scott and Kourtney on vacation with their three children.
During the chat, Sofia added that she’s going for acting roles that are “kind of similar” to herself, and explained, “They’re easy for me to play, and I really, really enjoy it.”
And she’s hoping that establishing herself as a serious actress will mean she can set herself apart from her dad Lionel Richie and younger sister Nicole Richie

“I’m very different from both my sister and my dad, so I feel like I’ve kind of navigated into my lane and it’s been great for me,” she smiled.

For the Disabled in Hollywood, Report Finds Hints of Progress

There is “Atypical,” on Netflix, a coming-of-age comedy that features young adults on the autism spectrum, and “This Close,” on Sundance Now, about besties who are deaf. Both shows are part of a gradual trend toward the authentic casting of characters with disabilities. But according to new research, they are also anomalies.A new white paper from the Ruderman Family Foundation reports that some 80 percent of all disabled characters on the small screen are portrayed by non-disabled actors. The imbalance is an indication, the report’s sponsors say, that efforts to diversify Hollywood are far from inclusive. And even with examples of authentic casting on “Atypical,” the lead character, who is autistic, is played by an actor who is not.“We wouldn’t accept it with other minorities,” said Jay Ruderman, president of the Ruderman Family Foundation, which published the report. “But with disability it is still routinely accepted. And that’s wrong.”The research, covering about 280 network and streaming shows from 2018, found that roughly half featured characters with physical, cognitive or mental health disabilities. Yet, the report said, “even where disability is present in television and films, it is almost always portrayed as an undesired, depressing and limiting state”There were signs of shifts. Of the Top 10 Nielsen-rated shows from 2016, just 5 percent of disabled characters were played by disabled performers. In 2018, that figure jumped to 12 percent.Still, the raw figures tell a less rosy story. In 2018, there had been just two authentic castings in the Top 10 shows: Gavin McHugh from “9-1-1,” and Chrissy Metz from “This Is Us.” (McHugh has cerebral palsy; and Metz was included because obesity is considered a disability.) That was up from 2016, when there had been just one.Ruderman said the low representation had far-ranging implications in shaping attitudes. Shows like “Will & Grace” and “Ellen” have been credited with widening the popular embrace of people who are LGBTQ.Disabled people — who face an unemployment rate that is more than twice as high as their non-disabled peers — have little clout in the entertainment industry. Ruderman faulted the historic isolation disabled people have faced. While that is slowly changing, he said, most decision makers in the entertainment industry do not see disability as part of general life. And having that personal connection is key. For his show “Ramy,” Ramy Youssef, who recently won a Golden Globe for best comedy actor in a series, cast his close buddy Steve Way, who has muscular dystrophy, as his character’s best friend. The foundation has been pressuring studios and networks to include more disabled talent, and is partnering this year with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a series of initiatives toward that end.Last year, CBS Entertainment became the first — and so far only — studio to sign a pledge with the foundation to audition disabled actors for series that get picked up (CBS had more authentic castings than any other network or streaming platform).“This is an issue of fairness,” Ruderman said. “This is an issue of over 20 percent of the population not being seen.” More

Gillian Anderson Bears Uncanny Resemblance to Margaret Thatcher in 'The Crown' New Set Photos

    WENN/Avalon

The former ‘The X-Files’ star was announced to play Thatcher back in September 2019 as she expresses her excitement to have the ‘opportunity to portray such a complicated and controversial woman.’
    Feb 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Crown” has always stunned viewers with the amazing casting and styling that makes its cast members perfectly look like the real-life version of the characters they are playing. Recently, Gillian Anderson caught many fans by surprise after photos of her on the set of the Netflix show’s season 4.
In the new set photos, which were posted by Digital Spy on Tuesday, February 4, Gillian could be seen decked out in appropriate clothing as her character, Margaret Thatcher. Her outfit included a gray padded shoulder suit and puffy barnet.
Her hair was also styled in short wavy locks, eerily similar to what that the Conservative Prime Minister, who ran the United Kingdom between 1979 and 1990, had at that time. The set photos are from a scene depicting the moment Thatcher, whose nickname was “The Iron Lady”, addressed the press shortly before being elected in 1979.

The former “The X-Files” star was announced to be playing Thatcher back in September 2019. “I am so excited to be joining the cast and crew of ‘The Crown’ and to have the opportunity to portray such a complicated and controversial woman,” Anderson expressed her excitement in a statement. “Thatcher was undoubtedly formidable but I am relishing exploring beneath the surface and, dare I say, falling in love with the icon who, whether loved or despised, defined an era.”
While “The Crown” is among the popular series on the streaming giant, the series will end with season 5. Show creator Peter Morgan confirmed the devastating news last week, saying in a statement, “At the outset I had imagined The Crown running for six seasons but now that we have begun work on the stories for season five it has become clear to me that this is the perfect time and place to stop,” he explained.
“I’m grateful to Netflix and Sony for supporting me in this decision,” he added, before adding that Imelda Staunton would be taking over the role of the Queen Elizabeth II from Olivia Colman in season 5. “I’m absolutely thrilled to confirm Imelda Staunton as Her Majesty The Queen for the fifth and final season, taking The Crown into the 21st Century. Imelda is an astonishing talent and will be a fantastic successor to Claire Foy and Olivia Colman.”
Season 4, which also stars Emma Corrin as Princess Diana, is set to premiere in late 2020 on Netflix.

NeNe Leakes Has Shady Reaction to Video of Kenya Moore Being Shut Down by Husband Marc Daly

    WENN/Patricia Schlein

NeNe’s jab doesn’t go unnoticed by fans who are quick to slam her for being petty, though some others are here for NeNe’s comment and jokingly call the 51-year-old ‘Petty Leakes.’
    Feb 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Everyone knows that NeNe Leakes doesn’t have the best relationship with her “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Kenya Moore, and the former doesn’t event try to make it subtle. NeNe was caught leaving a shady comment underneath a post of “RHOA” clip featuring Kenya having an intense moment with her estranged husband Marc Daly.
Posted by The Shade Room on Instagram, the video saw Kenya and Marc visiting a venue to plan an upcoming event. Kenya could be seen trying to say something and put out her opinion, but Marc kept interrupting her whenever she tried to speak.
“#KenyaMoore can’t get a word in with her estranged husband #MarcDaly,” the account wrote in the caption.
Within an hour of the footage being posted, NeNe took to the comment section to share her reaction to the video and it was the shadiest ever. She left multiple crying and laughing emojis, seemingly showing that she has a good laugh in Kenya’s expense.

NeNe’s jab didn’t go unnoticed by fans who were quick to slam her. “Nene, that’s not funny tho! Why you laughing at another woman’s pain? Just not funny,” one person wrote. “@neneleakes you’re laughing but your own marriage is pretty fragile,” someone else added with one other saying, “Nene I truly feel sorry for you… you’re absolutely miserable in your life.”
However, one user loved NeNe’s reaction, commenting, “NeNe you’re petty but I love it!” Another user wrote, “I’m screaming at Nene’s comment!” Some others jokingly called the 51-year-old TV star “Petty Leakes.”
Meanwhile, some others directed criticism at Marc. “why is his disrespect so funny to you? BC you don’t like @thekenyamoore ? That’s pretty immature to enjoy a man disrespect any women… he’s seems to be a narcissist,” one person noted.
NeNe and Kenya had been at each others’ throats in the current season 12 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. The two even nearly got physical in a January episode of the show and Kenya accused NeNe of almost spitting on her during another altercation.
NeNe, however, denied spitting on Kenya, unlike what she claimed before during interviews. “Do I ever spit on Kenya? No! Why she went and told those lies, is again, to be malicious. And her putting her hand in my face is just a no,” she said in a YouTube video. “She shouldn’t do it and everything should be fair for every single one of us.”

The New York Times’s co-chief film critic Manohla Dargis recently wrote an article arguing that Brad Pitt has been undervalued as a performer. Pitt was nominated for an acting Oscar this year, but that’s a relatively rare thing — the last time he was up for one was toward the beginning of the 2010s, when he was recognized for his performance in this baseball drama. In it, Pitt plays Billy Beane, the Oakland Athletics manager whose innovative methods helped the A’s compete against teams with far higher budgets in the early 2000s.FENCES (2016) 10 p.m. on BET. The plot hinges on Troy’s struggles to accept the athletic potential of his teenage son, Cory (Jovan Adepo), and the sometimes strained relationship between Troy and his wife, Rose (Viola Davis). “If the sound were to suddenly fail — or if the dialogue were dubbed into Martian — the impact of the performances would still be palpable,” A.O. Teresa Giudice and Danielle Staub 'Won't Be Best Friends Again' After 'RHONJ' Reunion Fallout

    Bravo

A source claims to the site that while the two look civil in the current episodes of the Bravo reality series, their relationship has since changed after the reunion, which was filmed last month.
    Feb 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Teresa Giudice and Danielle Staub had an intense argument when they filmed season 10 of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” on January 23. And a new report suggests that the two talked it out following the fallout.
According to HollywoodLife.com, Teresa and Danielle “did have a conversation at the reunion.” A source claims to the site that while the two looked civil in the current episodes of the Bravo reality series, their relationship has since changed after the reunion.
The source says that the 47-year-old and the 57-year-old “won’t be best friends again.” However, that doesn’t necessarily mean they are beefing.
“They seemed to figure out a way to be cordial,” the insider adds. “Teresa just doesn’t want to fight with anyone anymore. Her thoughts about life and relationships has completely changed with everything that’s gone on in her life.”
Of the reunion, the source says, “The RHONJ reunion which taped last week was quite explosive, but there wasn’t as much screaming and yelling as the reunions in the past. The women found better ways to articulate themselves. It’s clear that they’ve matured and grown but it’s still going to be explosive and entertaining.”
Season 10 will be the last for Danielle as she announced her exit last month. Stopping by “Watch What Happens Live”, she told host Andy Cohen, “I have, over the past 12 years and 10 seasons, been a part of this whole franchise and I’ve been very happy to rally and stand on the platform and be here with all of you, but it is time for me to leave and do something that I want to do that makes my heart happy every day. And so, I will never be returning as a ‘Housewife’ again.”
As for her plans after exiting “RHONJ”, Danielle said she would start a cooking channel to help her meditate. “I am going to start my own cooking channel,” she said. “Cooking is the therapy to me, so I’m basically calling it ‘Cooking Therapy’. I find my peace in the kitchen.”
