'Bachelor' Recap: Peter Weber Sends Almost Half of the Ladies Home

    ABC

Peter and the remaining ten women in his season heads to Chile for the next dates, but before that, Peter has to step in to stop Mykenna and Victoria F. from fighting.
    Feb 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Bachelor” season 24 aired its 6th episode on Wednesday, February 5. The episode saw Peter Weber making a huge decision to the remaining ten women who were vying for his heart on the ABC dating show.
They headed to Chile for the next dates, but before that, Peter had to step in to stop Mykenna and Victoria F. from fighting. He then asked Hannah Ann out for one-on-one date which marked her second already. Meanwhile, Mykenna, Natasha and Tammy hadyet to get a one-on-one.
Peter and Hannah Ann opted to explore Santiago, and at some point of their date, Peter told her about his concern when it came to her age as she’s only 23. The pilot admitted to being worried that Hannah Ann wouldn’t be ready for a lifelong commitment. Hannah Ann then approached him in tears and opened up that she’s “starting to fall in love” with Peter. Despite the concern, he gave Hannah Ann a rose.
Later, Sydney, Natasha, Kelsey, Victoria P, Madison, Tammy, Kelley and Mykenna were chosen for the group date. Meanwhile, Victoria F. got a second one-on-one because Peter thought her first solo date was interrupted with drama involving Victoria’s ex Chase Rice.
The decision didn’t sit well with Mykenna, who looked super upset. She considered going home and decided to stick around.
During the nighttime portion of the group date, Victoria P. had a great one-on-one time with Peter. Meanwhile, Tammy had a drama with Mykenna as the former thought that Mykenna was too young for the show. Peter was later involved, though he didn’t see the points that Tammy wanted to deliver. At the end of the date, Peter presented the rose to Madison.
Meanwhile, Peter and Victoria F. went for horseback riding. During the date, Victoria asked Peter about rumors of him dating so many other women. That prompted Peter to assure her that he felt very strongly for her. Later, it was announced that Mykenna and Tammy would be going for a 2-on-1 date with Peter. Both women talked bad about each other and eventually, Peter trusted in Mykenna and eliminated Tammy.
At the rose ceremony, Peter gave the remaining roses to Kelsey, Natasha and Kelley. That meant Mykenna and Sydney were forced to go home.

'The Masked Singer' Unmasks Llama – Find Out the Star Underneath the Costume

    FOX

After the audience and panelists, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy, vote for their favorites of the night, it’s announced that Llama has to be sent home.
    Feb 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Masked Singer” season 3 returned with a new episode on Wednesday, February 5. After big revelation that the Robot, who was eliminated in the premiere episode, was rapper Lil Wayne, one other contestants would be unmasked at the end of the episode.
The first singer to hit the stage was Llama, who sang “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones. Following him up was Miss Monster. She offered a stunning performance of Bobbie Gentry’s “Fancy”.

Later, White Tiger showcased his skills by belting out “Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch. As for Kangaroo, she opted for “You Know I’m No Good” by Amy Winehouse.

Concluding the night was Turtle, who performed “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur.

After the audience and panelists, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy, voted for their favorites of the night, it was announced that Llama had to be sent home. Then, Llama was revealed to be comedian Drew Carey, who’s known for hosting “The Price Is Right” and “Whose Line Is it Anyway?”.
Carey told Entertainment Weekly that he wasn’t upset for being eliminated. “It’s like if you were doing karaoke at an office party and they gave you a little joke trophy that you could put in your cubicle,” he admitted. “That’s how I treated it. There’s no way you can take this show seriously as a singing talent show.”
“I thought it was going to be a quick ride,” Carey told Variety. “After I got past the first round, everything else was gravy… I like to carry a tune. I knew I wasn’t going to win that contest. There’s no way to watch that show and take it seriously, really. When you have Wayne Brady and Seal and whomever else on there, I’m not going to win against those people on a singing show!”
“But as far as having a goof and having fun, I can do that,” he added. “And I’m pretty self-aware. I watched the show, and I know why they have somebody like me on the show. They always have a beloved old guy. I knew how long I’d last!”

Sofia Richie Says No More to 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' Appearances

    WENN/Avalon

The girlfriend of Scott Disick, who made her debut on the reality series in 2019, explains why she won’t be on the show anymore when met at the opening of Marcell Von Berlin’s flagship store.
    Feb 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Sofia Richie has ruled out any more appearances on the next series of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, because she wants to transition to acting.
As the girlfriend of Kourtney Kardashian’s ex Scott Disick, Sofia made a brief appearance on the family’s E! reality show last season. However, in a chat with Entertainment Tonight at the opening of designer Marcell Von Berlin’s flagship store in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February, 04, Sofia explained further cameos are unlikely.
Asked why she won’t be making any more appearances on the series, Sofia replied, “Well, because I want to get into acting! I feel like, for a while, I kind of held back on things because I was afraid of failure, but 2020 is (the year of) no fear! I’m gonna be doing acting stuff really soon.”
“Great things are happening and I’m really excited about it.”
The 21-year-old model made her debut on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” in October (2019), when she joined Scott and Kourtney on vacation with their three children.
During the chat, Sofia added that she’s going for acting roles that are “kind of similar” to herself, and explained, “They’re easy for me to play, and I really, really enjoy it.”
And she’s hoping that establishing herself as a serious actress will mean she can set herself apart from her dad Lionel Richie and younger sister Nicole Richie

“I’m very different from both my sister and my dad, so I feel like I’ve kind of navigated into my lane and it’s been great for me,” she smiled.

For the Disabled in Hollywood, Report Finds Hints of Progress

There is “Atypical,” on Netflix, a coming-of-age comedy that features young adults on the autism spectrum, and “This Close,” on Sundance Now, about besties who are deaf. Both shows are part of a gradual trend toward the authentic casting of characters with disabilities. But according to new research, they are also anomalies.A new white paper from the Ruderman Family Foundation reports that some 80 percent of all disabled characters on the small screen are portrayed by non-disabled actors. The imbalance is an indication, the report’s sponsors say, that efforts to diversify Hollywood are far from inclusive. And even with examples of authentic casting on “Atypical,” the lead character, who is autistic, is played by an actor who is not.“We wouldn’t accept it with other minorities,” said Jay Ruderman, president of the Ruderman Family Foundation, which published the report. “But with disability it is still routinely accepted. And that’s wrong.”The research, covering about 280 network and streaming shows from 2018, found that roughly half featured characters with physical, cognitive or mental health disabilities. Yet, the report said, “even where disability is present in television and films, it is almost always portrayed as an undesired, depressing and limiting state”There were signs of shifts. Of the Top 10 Nielsen-rated shows from 2016, just 5 percent of disabled characters were played by disabled performers. In 2018, that figure jumped to 12 percent.Still, the raw figures tell a less rosy story. In 2018, there had been just two authentic castings in the Top 10 shows: Gavin McHugh from “9-1-1,” and Chrissy Metz from “This Is Us.” (McHugh has cerebral palsy; and Metz was included because obesity is considered a disability.) That was up from 2016, when there had been just one.Ruderman said the low representation had far-ranging implications in shaping attitudes. Shows like “Will & Grace” and “Ellen” have been credited with widening the popular embrace of people who are LGBTQ.Disabled people — who face an unemployment rate that is more than twice as high as their non-disabled peers — have little clout in the entertainment industry. Ruderman faulted the historic isolation disabled people have faced. While that is slowly changing, he said, most decision makers in the entertainment industry do not see disability as part of general life. And having that personal connection is key. For his show “Ramy,” Ramy Youssef, who recently won a Golden Globe for best comedy actor in a series, cast his close buddy Steve Way, who has muscular dystrophy, as his character’s best friend. The foundation has been pressuring studios and networks to include more disabled talent, and is partnering this year with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a series of initiatives toward that end.Last year, CBS Entertainment became the first — and so far only — studio to sign a pledge with the foundation to audition disabled actors for series that get picked up (CBS had more authentic castings than any other network or streaming platform).“This is an issue of fairness,” Ruderman said. “This is an issue of over 20 percent of the population not being seen.” More

Here Is Why Billy Ray Cyrus Keeps His Finger Crossed for 'Hannah Montana' Prequel

    Disney

The ‘Old Town Road’ crooner, who starred opposite his daughter Miley Cyrus on the Disney series, spills that there are talks about the TV show’s return for a backstory.
    Feb 5, 2020

The “Old Town Road” star appeared on the hit Disney show, alongside daughter Miley Cyrus, from 2006 to 2011, and he’s hoping rumors of a TV return for the child pop superstar are true – because he’d love to reprise his characters, Robby Stewart and Robbie Ray.

He adds, “I think there’s a whole story that led up to Miley becoming Hannah Montana.”

Gillian Anderson Bears Uncanny Resemblance to Margaret Thatcher in 'The Crown' New Set Photos

    WENN/Avalon

The former ‘The X-Files’ star was announced to play Thatcher back in September 2019 as she expresses her excitement to have the ‘opportunity to portray such a complicated and controversial woman.’
    Feb 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Crown” has always stunned viewers with the amazing casting and styling that makes its cast members perfectly look like the real-life version of the characters they are playing. Recently, Gillian Anderson caught many fans by surprise after photos of her on the set of the Netflix show’s season 4.
In the new set photos, which were posted by Digital Spy on Tuesday, February 4, Gillian could be seen decked out in appropriate clothing as her character, Margaret Thatcher. Her outfit included a gray padded shoulder suit and puffy barnet.
Her hair was also styled in short wavy locks, eerily similar to what that the Conservative Prime Minister, who ran the United Kingdom between 1979 and 1990, had at that time. The set photos are from a scene depicting the moment Thatcher, whose nickname was “The Iron Lady”, addressed the press shortly before being elected in 1979.

The former “The X-Files” star was announced to be playing Thatcher back in September 2019. “I am so excited to be joining the cast and crew of ‘The Crown’ and to have the opportunity to portray such a complicated and controversial woman,” Anderson expressed her excitement in a statement. “Thatcher was undoubtedly formidable but I am relishing exploring beneath the surface and, dare I say, falling in love with the icon who, whether loved or despised, defined an era.”
While “The Crown” is among the popular series on the streaming giant, the series will end with season 5. Show creator Peter Morgan confirmed the devastating news last week, saying in a statement, “At the outset I had imagined The Crown running for six seasons but now that we have begun work on the stories for season five it has become clear to me that this is the perfect time and place to stop,” he explained.
“I’m grateful to Netflix and Sony for supporting me in this decision,” he added, before adding that Imelda Staunton would be taking over the role of the Queen Elizabeth II from Olivia Colman in season 5. “I’m absolutely thrilled to confirm Imelda Staunton as Her Majesty The Queen for the fifth and final season, taking The Crown into the 21st Century. Imelda is an astonishing talent and will be a fantastic successor to Claire Foy and Olivia Colman.”
Season 4, which also stars Emma Corrin as Princess Diana, is set to premiere in late 2020 on Netflix.
