    Noel Gallagher: Music Critics Looked Like Fools for Initially Bashing Oasis Classic 'Morning Glory'

    The Oasis musician suggests music journalists looked like fools for criticizing their 1995 album which later went on to become one of the greatest albums of all time.

    AceShowbiz – Noel Gallagher is convinced Oasis’ third album, “Be Here Now”, landed rave reviews from the British media because music journalists didn’t want to look like fools again after slamming the classic “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”.
    The 1995 release was hammered by the press but went on to become one of the greatest albums of all time and Gallagher now believes “Be Here Now” benefited from so-called music writers looking like idiots.
    “It didn’t get one good review, I don’t think… I was expecting it to be not well received…,” Noel says of “Morning Glory” in the album’s new 25th anniversary documentary, “Return to Rockfield”. “They were actually on the verge of sounding the death knell for the band.”

    “It goes to prove that really journalists, they know f**k all. They had to second guess everything after Morning Glory, because they got it so wrong. That’s why when Be Here Now came out, which isn’t a great album, it got 10 out of 10 everywhere… because they didn’t want to be made to look like d**ks again, and they were, because it’s not half the album Morning Glory is. After that, they properly hated us, because they didn’t understand us.”
    “In the end the people decide… The people decide what is hot and the people decide what is not and that’s it – the end!”
    In the documentary, Noel reunited with the guitar he used to record Oasis classic “Wonderwall”. He apparently gave it away to sound engineer Nick Brine, “So that’s the one I played Wonderwall on. F**king hell, you jammy b**tard. That’s gonna be worth tens of pounds one day. Giving guitars away, I must’ve been high.”

      According to Noel Gallagher, he and estranged bandmate/brother Liam often ended up fighting whenever money was involved during their board game pastime.

      AceShowbiz – The sibling feud that led to Noel and Liam Gallagher breaking up Oasis was fuelled by their fights over the board game Frustration.
      The game, which is known as Trouble in the U.S., was such a favourite of the brothers that they took it on tour with them everywhere and creators MB Games even made them their own personalised Oasis version.
      However, Noel reveals there was a dark side to their love of the dice-based pastime as games played for money always ended in fights and Liam accused him of cheating.
      “It would always end in violence,” the musician tells comedian Matt Morgan on his “Funny How?” podcast. “I was up about a grand ($1,220) up at one point on tour. He (Liam) always accused me that somehow, before the game had started, I had unscrewed the glass dome and put grease on the dice.”
      “It’s a complete game of random – it’s in the lap of the gods. I was winning far too much for him to handle so he accused me cheating – f**king rigging the game. Would I rig a game of Frustration?”
      The rock and roll star hasn’t let his fights with his brother put him off the game however as he says he took the Frustration after the band split in 2009 following a fight backstage before a gig in Paris, France – and still keeps a board in his dressing rooms today.
      In the chat with Matt, Noel also reiterated his reluctance to reunite Oasis with Liam, despite his sibling’s calls to do so for a one-off charity gig for Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) workers – saying he would only be doing it to, “shut this f**king idiot (Liam) up.”

      Liam Gallagher Believes Noel Will Agree to Oasis Reunion Very Soon

      While Noel has poured cold water to rumors the rock band had received an offer to reunite, Liam claims his estranged brother will cave in to the proposal because of his faltering solo career.

      AceShowbiz – Liam Gallagher is predicting his estranged brother Noel Gallagher will agree to an Oasis reunion “soon” as his solo career is faltering.
      The elder Gallagher brother, 52, recently poured cold water on rumours he and Liam, 47, have buried the hatchet and denied they had received an offer to reunite.
      However, the “Wall of Glass” hitmaker says both he and Noel have received offers, and he’s sure that his sibling will do it for the money.
      “Let me tell you this: it has been offered and he knows about it,” Liam tells Britain’s NME website. “He’s obviously gonna say no, because he’d like to be the person to break the news to people because he’s the f**king oracle.”
      He adds that they got a proposal in the “last couple of weeks” before adding he thinks an agreement is imminent.
      “It is gonna happen, believe you me – it’s gonna happen very f**king soon because he’s greedy and he loves money and he knows that it’s got to happen soon or it won’t happen.”

      Explaining why his brother would relent after a decade of open hostilities, he cites Noel’s ticket sales – and the fact that he failed to sell out a gig in their native Manchester, England.
      “That c**t can’t even f**king sell out (the) Apollo in Manchester – 3000 capacity in his own f**king town, the f**king embarrassing, f**king doughnut,” he jokes, going on to mock his brother’s music as not good enough for a reunited Oasis.
      “I’d do a record, but listen, it depends on what kind of record it is,” Liam continues. “If it’s anything like that s**t he’s putting out at the moment, I don’t think anyone wants that. I think people would give you £100 million not to f**king make that record, you know what I mean?”

      “They’d just go, ‘Yeah, look, here’s 100 million quid for the tour and here’s another 100 million quid to not make a record like that.’ ”
