Ben Shephard was impressed on Thursday’s Tipping Point, as an extremely speedy contestant stepped up to the plate.
In a subtle swipe, the ITV star suggested the other contestants were too slow, urging them to pick up the pace in order to beat leading player Anne.
In the first round, Anne succeeded in answering a stream of correct answers just moments into the show, landing counter after counter.
Her rivals didn’t have the chance to beat her to the punch, as Ben branded the quiz hopeful as “lightning fast”.
Apologising for stealing all the counters, Anne turned to her rivals and said: “I’m sorry.”
However, Ben was quick to snap at her rivals, saying: “Don’t be sorry.
“If you know the answers and you’re quicker than this lot.”
Later, Anne had run out of chances to win, as Ben joked her competitors finally had the opportunity to play.
He joked: “For the time being you’re out, which is good news for Brogan, Steven, and Jorden because they’re going to get a look in.”

Unfortunately, Anne’s luck ran out in the second round, when Stephen and Brogan managed to beat the sum in her prize pot.
Brogan soon followed her out the door, leaving Stephen to take on the finale in the hopes of winning the whopping £10,000 jackpot.
Revealing his plans for spending his winnings, he told Ben: “If I’m lucky enough to get a good amount, well whatever, it’ll go to a holiday.”
While Stephen didn’t make it to ten grand, he did earn an impressive £3,350, as well as winning the mystery prize.
Congratulating his performance, Ben said: “You’re not only taking the money, you’ve also won an overnight stay for two!”
Tipping Point airs on weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
