Gemma Collins has spoken about her “annual” Christmas trip to London with her mum, Joan Collins.
The reality star went on to reveal that both of her parents are now “extremely unwell” after they had tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
Gemma, 39, shared the news on her podcast as she discussed her festive traditions with her doting parents.
She added that she was determined to continue with their annual trip despite the coronavirus pandemic that continues to sweep across the four corners of the nation.
Speaking about her outing, the television personality who found fame on The Only Way Is Essex, said: “I love Christmas but this year, leading up to Christmas is always going to be a little bit different because of the pandemic.

“So I took my mum to London because we always used to go to London on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th and we’d drive home on Christmas Eve.”
The GC continued: “I managed to do that earlier with her and it’s a lovely feeling as when I left London I already felt like I’d had my own Christmas.
“Me and my mum had our special little Christmas together.”

However, it is not known when their day out took place – Gemma’s podcast became available on December 16.
Gemma has now pleaded with her social media followers to abide by the government-issued guidelines surrounding the virus.
In an emotional Instagram post, she said both her parents are “extremely unwell” and had tested positive.
She said that her dad was so unwell, she had seen him cry while admitting he “would rather be dead”.

Gemma’s post read: “Both my parents are extremely unwell with Covid 19! Seeing my dad cry which he never does was a shock and says he would rather be dead than experience everything he is going through right now… This has totally wiped him out and it’s heartbreaking.
“My mum also is extremely, extremely unwell with Covid also, this is real! And please please take notice and keep your loved ones SAFE.”
Gemma and her parents reside in Essex, which like most of the South East has been placed in “Tier 4” after the number of positive coronavirus cases skyrocketed.
Yesterday, on December 23, it’s estimated that 69,051 people across the UK had tested positive for the virus.
The number comes after the government put a ban in place on passengers arriving in the UK from South Africa – where two new strains of Covid-19 had been discovered.
Those arriving or those who have been around individuals who have returned were told to isolate for 10 days.
