Jackass' Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O hospitalised days into shooting new film

Shooting for Jackass 4 has started in true stuntman style, after two hit stars have been hospitalised while performing a clip for the new film.

Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O were injured while jumping on a full speed treadmill and carrying band equipment – including a tuba, reports Screen Rant.

The pair were taken to hospital, but fellow Jackass star, Bam Margera adds neither are seriously injured after the incident.

In the video he posted on his website, Margera said: “It’s the second day of filming Jackass already and Steve-O and Knoxville were hospitalised by jumping on a full-speed treadmill with band equipment – like a f***ing tuba.”

He goes on to explain that he’s also due to be seen: “So yeah, I’m here are the clinic now, taking a p*** test. Rock’n’roll, oh yeah – I’ve got the scars too. Yeah man.”

The fourth film in the series, which was originally scheduled to be released next March, has now been postponed until July 2, 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The latest instalment was announced in December and will be the first since 2010’s Jackass 3D.

It’s also the first time the gang have filmed together since the tragic death of their friend and fellow cast member, Ryan Dunn.

The Jackass films, first released in 2003, followed by sequels in 2006 and 2010, were all box office hits.

Each film had a budget less than $20 million but collectively brought in $335 million at the box office around the world.

This year represents the 20th anniversary of the Jackass series premiere on MTV.

Steve-O said: “We’re approaching the 20th anniversary of when Jackass first appeared on MTV, and I do know that there’s an urge, an idea to commemorate that anniversary in some way.”

He added: “It has been greenlit by Paramount Pictures, yeah. They say March of 2021 [now July 2021, obviously] but they haven’t given me an offer that I can really take seriously yet

“Not to be rude or anything, but… I don’t have a contract yet. So we’ll see.

“I’m rooting for all the bros. It’s just a weird situation. But I love all my Jackass buddies, and I just gotta do it differently this time. They gotta fix it.”
