According to stats compiled by Buzz Bingo, which were given to Daily Star Online, Emmerdale is the soap with the highest number of deaths by suicide.
Nine people have taken their own lives, with notable examples such as Alice Dingle after she battled cancer, and Chris Tate to get his own back on Kim Tate.
In comparison, EastEnders came a close second with seven, including Ethel Skinner’s assisted suicide, and Peggy Mitchell in 2016.
Coronation Street has only had two – Katy Harris induced a diabetic coma by not taking her medication, and Joe Donelli shot himself in 1970.
Could Paddy be the next person to take his own life?
His relationship with Chas has been on rocky ground in recent months, as she struggled to forgive him for being so careless with their daughter.
The pair have been through enough already, as they lost their first daughter Grace, who died only minutes after being born.
Chas and Paddy were told that their unborn daughter had Bilateral Renal Agenesis, meaning that her kidneys weren’t going to develop.
When told that they would need to terminate the pregnancy, as the baby wouldn’t survive after birth, Chas decided to go through with it.
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
