Holly Willoughby has admitted she is worried she will be forced to choose between having Christmas dinner with her mum or her dad this year.
Following the Government’s announcement that gatherings of more than six people will not be allowed from September 14 onwards, the TV presenter started thinking ahead to December 25.
During Thursday’s episode of This Morning, Holly and her co-host Phillip Schofield discussed the confusing rules with Matthew Wright, with Phil remarking that it will be the “new normal”.
Due to the six person rule, 39-year-old Holly admitted it could get “awkward” in her house as she would have to choose between her mum Lynne, 71, or her dad Terry.

Holly has three children – Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, five, with husband Dan Baldwin meaning just one of her parents would make up the “six person rule”.
“A lot of people are thinking, ‘What will this mean for Christmas? What will Christmas look like?'” the mim-of-three said.

“It’s going to be very awkward in my house as I’m a family-of-five, so I’ll have to choose between my mum and dad on Christmas day!”
While discussing the odd rules, Matthew added: “I’m feeling very confused and conflicted. The rules are different everywhere else in the United Kingdom.

He continued: “You can’t have your parents over on Christmas Day but you can go on public transport? For the life of me, I can’t make any sense of it.”
Holly then added: “I guess the other thought is how is anyone going to police these rules. The government are going to have marshals to monitor people.”
It’s been confirmed that people caught breaking the rules will face fines of £100 that will double for re-offenders.
The Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the rules have been put in place in attempt to prevent a second national lockdown.
However, many people are confused by the new rules as gatherings larger than six people are still permitted for work and school purposes.
