Loose Women viewers took offence during one part of today’s show, as Carol McGiffin angrily spoke out against mask-wearing.
The panellist, who was joined by Kelle Bryan, Stacey Solomon and Christine Lampard in the studio, furiously branded face masks as “invasive” and “uncomfortable”.
Christine referenced a clip of coronavirus survivor Tom Hanks, which showed the actor comparing those who shun mask-wearing to irresponsible drivers.
Carol announced she was disappointed in Tom, before adding: “I do have my theories about all sorts of things about this virus and the mask, not for airing now.”
Referring to mask-wearing in public, she added: “I find it an invasion.”

Branding the masks as “uncomfortable,” Carol raged against social media users who were “accusing me of being a selfish murderer for not wanting to wear one”.
Hollyoaks star Kelly was quick to hit back, as she said: “You say it uncomfortable – is it more uncomfortable than being not able to breathe?
“Carol I think you’ve got to look at it in the broader perspective.”
Kelly added: “It’s a preventative measure you can do quite easily.”
Stacey and Christine tried to calm the tensions in the studio, while Carol stood by her point of view.
Taking to Twitter, viewers branded Carol’s comments as “reckless” and “ridiculous,” concerned she would inspire others to unintentionally spread the virus.

One said: “#LooseWomen Remind Carol that Tom had Covid and knows the pain to his body that it causes. Carol is the problem in getting rid of Covid.”
“Carol moaning about wearing a mask. Ridiculous #LooseWomen,” added a second.
A third added: “Carol McGiffin is showing how incredibly self-centred she is by complaining about masks on today’s Loose Women. I can’t stand wearing one – I get hot and flustered, my glasses blur and I have no idea what I am paying for anything but I know how important it is #LooseWomen.”
While a fourth chimed: “Having Carol air this rubbish is incredibly reckless.”
Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
