Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has spoken out about the protests taking place in the United States and the rest of the world following the death of George Floyd last week.
Marches across America and the rest of the globe began after George, an unarmed and handcuffed black man, was killed after being arrested with video footage showing police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on his neck as he said: “I can’t breathe!”
The four cops involved were fired, and Chauvin was arrested Friday on suspicion of third-degree murder, meaning he has been accused of killing George without prior intent, with disregard for his life.

Outspoken television presenter Piers, 55, branded the protests “fully justified”, also adding that the gatherings were “very worrying”.
Taking to Twitter, the no-nonsense television star personality penned to his 7.5million followers: “Horrendous scenes all over America.
“Fully justified protests at the despicable police killing of George Floyd now devolving into widespread looting, chaos, rioting and anarchy.
“There’s been nothing like this since the reaction to the assassination of MLK in 1968. Very worrying.”

Piers, who’s Good Morning Britain contract has been extended until 2021, joined a number of famous faces who’ve publicly spoken out about the marches.
Model and actress Paris Jackson was seen carrying a sign that read “Peace, Love, Justice” as she joined in a Black Lives Matter rally in Los Angeles, California on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga branded President Donald Trump a “racist” and a “fool” in a statement addressing George’s death and the protests that have followed.

Piers’ tweet comes after more than 4,000 Ofcom complaints were made about his interview style this year and a petition was set up to try and get him off viewers’ screens garnering around 50,000 signatures.
However, Morgan has hit out and said he “doesn’t care” about the complaints and won’t be going anywhere for a while.
In an interview with The Sun’s TV Mag the GMB host explained: “If my style upsets people, don’t watch!
“Watch something else. Nobody’s forcing anyone to watch it.
“You’ve got a remote control in your hand, I really don’t understand what the problem is.”
So, it seems Piers isn’t going anywhere anytime soon after revealing the newest contract he has signed for Good Morning Britain.
He confirmed: “I’ve just signed a new contract up for GMB until the end of next year. I love working with Susanna and the team – we’re a Yin Yang that works.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
