Tara Reid slams 'cruel' Jenny McCarthy after awkward plastic surgery question

Tara Reid has branded Jenny McCarthy “really cruel” following a car crash interview on her radio show in 2016.

American Pie actress Tara, 44, was left furious after an awkward interview with the star, who repeatedly asked about her plastic surgery.

Tara was there to promote her role in film Sharknado at the time, but the radio interview veered towards passive aggression.

Jenny, 47, couldn’t help but ask Tara about work she’s had done, which infuriated the star and eventually saw her quit the interview.

During the awkward encounter, Jenny asked: “So you’re good and done not moving forward with plastic surgery?”

As Tara replied: “No, I haven’t had any surgery for a while Jenny. I think I’ve made that clear, like, about 100 times.

“Maybe that’s because you only read the bad things, but I made that really clear for so many years, but read what you want to read. But it was really nice talking to you and really good luck with your show.”

Reflecting back to the horrific mishap four years later, Tara admitted Jenny was “really out of line”.

Tara told TooFab : “[She] was really cruel and to be really that cruel for no reason. She had such a meanness and a cold heart in her.”

At the time, Jenny made a thinly-veiled dig at Tara, who had got up to leave the interview.

“So nice talking to you too. Good luck with Sharknado, and I hope you stay married. And I hope your knees get a little wobblier than they already are,” she hit back after Tara left the host hanging.

Jenny added: “Love you Tara. Good luck with Sharknado 18.”

Luckily for Tara, she was surrounded by support after the red-faced interview.

Amy Schumer was one celeb who leapt to Tara’s defence, accusing Jenny of “bullying” her guest.

She said in an interview at the time: “I’ve never met either of them, I don’t think. But why won’t you just be nice to each other? It really seemed like she was just bullying her.”

“I don’t know Jenny, I’ve never met her – I’m sure she can be charming when it behoves her. But be nice to other women, especially other women in this disgusting f**king business, that’s all I can say,” the comedian added.
