Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray couldn’t hold back his amusement after he was mistakenly called Adele live on air.
As the presenter discussed the budget cuts with reporter Jonathan Swain, he quickly picked up on the fact that Jonathan called him the wrong name.
Calling him out over the blunder, Adil who appeared shocked asked: “Hold on, did you just call me Adele?”
Feeling red-faced Jonathan confirmed that he did but it was due to the fact that Adil had been singing throughout the morning.
Laughing the mistake off, Adil said he couldn’t believe he was compared to a chart topping singer.
Broadcaster Adil was in a very excited mood on Thursday morning’s programme as he was eagerly waiting for singer Neyo to come on the show.
Throughout the morning, the presenter continued to sing Neyo’s chart topping hit So Sick, which appeared to aggravate his co-star Charlotte Hawkins and viewers at home.
One fan said: “Adil if you want to do karaoke, I’m sure the local spoons will oblige you, stop warbling on air.”
Another chimed in and said: “He better not sing when Ne-Yo is on or I’ll die in my seat from cringing #GMB.”
When Neyo did appear on the show, Adil couldn’t help but belt out his famous song leaving the singer fairly amused.
Earlier in the programme, Quentin Letts and Ayesha Hazarika were in the studio to discuss Wednesday’s Budget announcement, and Quentin did not hold back on his views.
During the conversation, Charlotte was heard saying: “Nothing to help people on energy bills?” but Quentin was quick to interrupt her.
He said: “Hold on, you say help?! This is our money that the politicians are giving away and the idea that you can just help people without any cost to other people is quite wrong.
Watching the scenes unfold, Adil fired back and said: “Why is that quite wrong? If people are poor and vulnerable, shouldn’t we all be helping them? Isn’t that the idea of a society? That’s unbelievable you would say that.”
He added: “Are you not prepared to pay for somebody worse off?”
Political sketch writer Quentin replied: “I think I’d get a bit fed up at some point, yeah.”
