Hollyoaks youngster Ella Richardson (Erin Palmer) has confirmed she’s pregnant with Charlie Dean’s (Charlie Behan) baby.
The schoolgirl dropped the baby bombshell during Wednesday first-look episode on E4.
Charlie wasn’t happy after being cast as Joseph in the Hollyoaks High nativity.
However, Ella had a surprise for her boyfriend to cheer him up.
She passed him one end of a cracker and the lovebirds pulled it while siting in the school hall.
Charlie was left speechless as she spotted a pregnancy test on the floor.
As he looked down, the word ‘pregnant’ could be seen on the screen.
The young couple had previously discussed starting a family of their own, ignoring concerns from their loved ones that they’re too young to be having sex.
Ella’s news is set to send those closest to her into a spin, with Nancy Hayton (Jessica Fox), Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) and Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) all urging her to think carefully and consider her options.
However, Ella and Charlie are convinced that they’ll make good parents by learning from all of the mistakes that Nancy, Darren and Mandy have made over the years.
What does the future hold for them?
Elsewhere in the village, Darren returned home after being held captive by newcomer Ethan (Matthew James-Bailey), who’s carrying out the orders of his girlfriend Maya (Ky Discala).
Darren was relieved when he manages to convince Ethan to let him go, promising that he won’t reveal anything about what happened at the jewellery store.
Before Ethan got the chance to free Darren, evil Maya arrived at the hotel room and was annoyed to discover that their target was still alive.
With Maya and Ethan distracted by arguing over the situation, Darren got the chance to run for his freedom and fortunately made it back to the village.
Darren’s pregnant partner Nancy was stunned as he arrived unexpectedly during Charlie’s birthday celebrations at The Dog.
During Wednesday’s E4 episode, Darren tried to convince Nancy that he was kidnapped and didn’t walk out on her, but she’s reluctant to believe his wild story and is in no hurry to forgive him.
