Who Wants To Be A Millionaire viewers are convinced host Jeremy Clarkson gave away a crucial answer to a £64,0000 question at a key point in the game.
Jeremy read out the money-winning question: “Referring to a situation of total disorder, the term ‘omnishambles’ was used in which TV comedy series?”
Mark toyed with answering “A: The Thick of It,” but wasn’t a hundred percent sure and had no life-lines remaining.
He was just about to throw the towel in and even said he was going “to take a step back and walk” when the host interjected: “Really?”
Jeremy reminded: “There’s just two words that I would need to hear if you really have made your mind up.”
As Mark pondered over the question, he said: “It’s entirely up to you.”
At which point Mark changed his mind, adding: “Do you know what £16,000 is still a lot of money and the rest of it isn’t real, so lets go for it A, please Jeremy.”
A gleeful Jeremy celebrated with him as he announced it was the correct answer and that he’d now won “£64,000”.
Suspicious fans took to Twitter, accusing TV star Jeremy of “giving the answer away”.
One tweet read: “Think Jeremy was a bit too obvious there giving him the go on!! #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire.”
Another agreed: “Clarkson goaded him into that #whowantstobeamillionaire.”
While a third penned in response: “He basically told him it was right.”
Mark had a fabulous run of guessing the right answers- given he’d used up all of his life-lines early on.
He took a punt at the £16,000 answer – which was the point he had set his safety-net and would be the minimal amount of cash he’d now walk away with, if questions were answered incorrectly.
His guessing luck ran out when he couldn’t move on from the £64,000 position.
Turning to Jeremy, he said: “I’ll take the money, please.”
