Ricky Gervais euphoric as he get his first Covid jab and declares virus a 'c**t'

Ricky Gervais, 59, was one of the lucky celebrities to receive his first vaccine against the coronavirus this week.

The controversial comedian shared a snap of himself sitting at the clinic for the monumental moment.

Wincing as the needle went into his arm, The Office actor forced himself to look away as the nurse injected the life-saving vaccine into his left arm.

Dressed all in black and wearing a plain matching face mask, Ricky later shared the post so he could encourage his followers to do the same.

But the star didn’t mince his words after successfully completing his turn in the chair.

“Take that, you Covid C**t!” he captioned the snap boldly.

Ricky, who will forever be remembered for his hilarious speeches while hosting the Golden Globe Awards in America, didn’t share which brand of vaccine he received.

Good Morning Britain’s entertainment reporter Richard Arnold commented: “Amen.”

While a fan wrote: “The King is safe,” followed by: “Yesssss Rick.”

Ricky also had an enormous stream of angry and “disappointed” comments from anti-vaxxers, claiming he was a “sell-out” and they couldn’t believe he would take the vaccine.

Another stunned fan responded with: “As usual, the comment section is full of ignorant morons. The original vaccine trial had over 40,000 participants that received their first dose about 10 months ago… and the mRNA research that helped develop the vaccine has been going on for close to a decade.

“Why don’t people trust scientists/doctors about this? There is no conspiracy… people have dedicated their lives to research this with the purpose of helping people.”

“The amount of anti-vaxxers in this chat is genuinely terrifying for humanity,” one person then said. “I literally feel disgusted at people having a go at someone who wants to protect their health.”

Ricky has been very open about his desire to get the vaccine since his interview with chat show host Jimmy Fallon back in January.

“I will fight an old lady for that vaccine, like Game Of Thrones,” he joked, after explaining he’d registered for it.

“I would be like a deranged junkie. I will grab the needle right out of her arm,” the star added.
