Coronation Street star Will Mellor has said he’d be a dodgy trader like Del Boy Trotter if he wasn’t an actor.
The telly ace – who plays Corrie badboy Harvey – revealed he used to sell cheap clobber in pubs and would still be at it if he wasn’t famous.
Will, 45, said: “I’d have probably have been a bit of a wheeler dealer like Del Boy.
“There was a period where I saved up to buy my first car, a Fiesta XR2 1.1, it cost me 675 quid – I loved it.
“And what I did was, I got a card and it was for a wholesalers, off my sister’s boyfriend.
“So I went down with this card as if I was a business owner and go in and buy cheap s***.
“I could go in the wholesalers and get all the sportswear and all that, it was shorts, socks, remember the Umbro jumpers with all the embroidery on?
“I could get them at 50 per cent off or 60 per cent off if I had this card which I wasn’t supposed to have.
“So I’d go down and spend 150 quid or summit, fill me car up and then just drive round all the pubs in the area selling them at a profit.
“I did that for a while and it was great, it paid for me petrol, it got me a bit of extra cash in me pocket and it was all cash.”
Will said on his podcast with Two Pints Of Lager pal Ralf Little that he would go back to hustling and trading if he ever decided to pack up his acting career.
He added: “I think I would happily do that, every day is different, because I’m into all that buying and selling and stuff – I think it would be great.”
