Christine Lampard says Meghan Markle 'must be angry' in heated royal debate on ITV show

Christine Lampard shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle’s recent interview and said the Duchess of Sussex “must be angry” and keen to get her message across.

While hosting ITV’s Lorraine on Tuesday morning (August 30), Christine got into a heated discussion with journalist Russell Myers regarding Meghan’s interview with The Cut.

Challenging Russell on whether Meghan should still be discussing her experience with the Royal family, Christine, 43, said she clearly feels she is “misunderstood” and Meghan may feel that she wants to air her grievances.

However Russell hit back by saying it was “counterintuitive” and said despite Meghan and her husband Prince Harry claiming to be separated from their family, they are “living the life”.

Russell said: “They’ve signed mega mega money deals, they’re living the life.

“She paints this picture of an idyllic life in California. Their children are happy, they’re happy so they say.

“And I think a lot of people would just say get on with it and stop breaking over old coles, if you were.”

But some viewers were not impressed with Russell’s stance and claimed his views were rather “biased”.

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, one person said: “This guy on #lorraine is so biased it’s unbelievable. Meghan doesn’t come out of that interview well if the few quotes I’ve read are anything to go by but at least the correspondent on #GMB was more balanced.”

While another penned: “The guy speaking on #lorraine this morning really seems to hate her tbh, I just don’t understand why, if it is as simple as Meghan Vs royal family, I’m choosing Meghan every time!”

In her candid chat with The Cut, Meghan, 41, spoke about her attempts to “forgive” her royal in-laws.

She told the US fashion and celebrity website that it takes “a lot of energy not to forgive”.

The Duchess, who recently launched her podcast Archetypes as part of her multi-million dollar deal with Spotify, also spoke about the way in which her relationship with her father broke down due to his behaviour with the tabloids before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
