Dancing On Ice’s Liberty Poole “broke” Jake Cornish’s heart when she “suddenly dumped him” in the Love Island villa last summer.
The hunky Islander has opened up about his “heartbreak” after the stunning blonde bombshell dumped him and left him in the villa while she packed her bags and left.
Opening up to The Sun, Jack has said that he had never been dumped before Liberty, and had only been in a long term relationship before, so when she gave him the boot the hunk said that it hurt him.
He told the publication that the dumping came as a shock because they were planning to meet each other’s families one minute, but “the next it was over.”
“I was devastated, I couldn’t think straight,” he revealed to the paper, before explaining that his family asked him how his mental health was.
Jake said that the dumping from Liberty came as such a shock and he just had to “take it on the chin.”
He explained that he was planning a future with Liberty and that his feelings for her were genuine.
The couple were loved by the public after they coupled up and their love story unfolded on television, but things soon turned sour when in a challenge a clip was shown that changed everything.
A clip was shown to the Islanders of Jake saying that he did not want to rip off Liberty’s clothes – a clip that left Liberty heartbroken and hurt.
Six days later the pair split up, leaving Liberty in tears when she told her then-boyfriend: “I just don’t think we’re right for each other.”
The paper reported that when the pair arrived back in the UK they gave things another go, but soon realised they weren’t meant to be.
He told the publication that they decided to give it a try and they were talking before agreeing they weren’t right for each other.
Jake also revealed that the last time he spoke to Liberty was when she announced that she was going on Dancing On Ice.
“I sent her a message saying, ‘Well done Lib’. She replied, ‘Thank you’ and that is the last time I spoke to her.”
Jake added that he hasn’t managed to find love outside of the villa either, and doubts he’ll ever get back with the blonde beauty after things went so spectacularly wrong in the villa.
