Kelvin Fletcher criticised as he shares video of his kids 'driving Land Rover in snow'

Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has been criticised for sharing a video of his young children behind the wheel of his car.

The clip, featuring his three-year-old son Milo driving a car and his five-year-old daughter Marnie having a go too, was shared by the actor on Instagram.

The snow surrounding his 120-acre farm on the edge of the Peak District can be seen in the social media video.

But some fans were left outraged after the children, who did not appear to be wearing seatbelts, were left in charge of the vehicle and casually talked to their dad out the open window.

Kelvin’s son Milo was first seen in the clip, before swapping seats with older sibling Marnie, in the car on the snowy field.

The former Strictly winner wrote beside the video: “@fletchersonthefarm #farmlife #farming #kids #landrover #landroverdefender #startemyoung #ididntchoosethethuglifethethuglifechoseme”.

The Emmerdale star added the caption “a different kind of homework” to the footage, leaving some followers shocked.

“No seatbelts. Soo dangerous,” said one follower.

Another added: “Very dangerous. Not a good idea.” One stunned fan included a shocked face emoji with the words: “Not sure I’m comfortable with that,” as a fourth asked: “Not sure if that’s a good thing or not ??”

There are no restrictions for minors driving a car on private land.

Many fans leaped to the defence of the star

Other fans leaped to the defence of the star his wife Liz, who was also present at the time.

“Just how it should be,” defended one follower, and: “Yes! Love this!” wrote another.

Many reminisced about doing the same thing in their own childhoods. “Love this, just how I grew up” and “This was my childhood! Brilliant!” were among the comments.

Kelvin and his wife Liz are also parents to their twin sons Maximus Crowther and Mateusz Kelvin, who were born in April.

The family have opened up their life to TV viewers with their BBC show Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure, featuring the Fletchers getting to grips with day to day life on their farm which is also home to 20 sheep, three pigs and three alpacas.
