Piers Morgan fumes Prince Harry should ‘rein in his royals-trashing wife’

Piers Morgan has lashed out at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, labelling their behaviour over the past year as “selfish, whiny, money-grabbing and damaging”.

The TalkTV journalist said that the best way that Prince Harry can honour his father is by “cancelling his book” and reigning in his ” royals-trashing wife”.

Harry’s “tell all book” is due to come out in November, just weeks after the family will have finished mourning their Grandmother The Queen.

In an opinion piece in The New York Post Piers Morgan said: “If this book is as bad as the palace fears, all hell will break loose when it’s published, and the ensuing furore could depth-charge King Charles III’s reign before it’s even gotten going.

“So if Harry genuinely wants us to believe he has a desire to ‘honour’ his father, as he said today, he should tear up his lucrative contract with Penguin Random House and cancel the book.”

He the continued: “If Harry goes ahead with this horribly ill-advised book, he will betray his pledge to his grandmother, and show that his commitment to ‘honour’ his father is just more disingenuous hot air from someone who, like his wife, loves to preach one thing but practice another.”

Last week after the tragic death of The Queen, Prince Harry and Meghan and Prince William and Kate took a walk together to look at the tributes left by members of the public.

Yesterday on The Chris Evans Breakfast show Piers said that it was “good” to see the four of them come together.

He said: “It was good to see them coming together but I think that it’s been described as more of a truce than a proper peace settlement.

“We know Harry has got this book coming out. How much damage will that book, if it genuinely is what people think it is, a real tough thumping assault of what he has had to endure as a young prince.

“How much damage will that cause his father, the new king? His brother – the heir? All of these things are important.”

He continued: “I think it’s important now to clarify, going forward, what is the role of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in this Royal Family because I don’t think you can sustain a rival Royal Family running around.

“These things have to be settled.”

When the news broke that Queen Elizabeth has tragically died last Thursday Piers shared a touching tribute that read: “When Her Majesty the Queen died this afternoon in Balmoral, a little piece of us all died with her. “
