Bobby Brazier supported by EastEnders co-star as he makes Strictly Come Dancing history

Bobby Brazier has been supported by his EastEnders co-star as he makes Strictly Come Dancing history.

The 20-year-old soap star and model is the youngest ever male celebrity to reach the final of the BBC One competition. Bobby’s co-star James Farrar, who plays Zack Hudson in EastEnders, appeared on spin-off show It Takes Two on Wednesday (December 13) night to back his pal.

Host Janette Manrara pointed out: “Whether he wins or not, he is still the younger male celebrity to ever get to the Strictly final. Do you think he could do something like that when he first started?” James replied: “20, I just don’t believe he’s 20. He’s the most mature 20 year old I’ve ever met.”

He continued: “I was out partying at that age, never able to behave, and the boy knows how to get his head down and get it done which we’ve seen at EastEnders. He came in, I was assigned as his mentor, and I thought ‘I’m going to have to look after this boy’ but he looks after everybody else so I’m not that surprised he’s here. He works hard and he’s very likeable and we love him.”

It comes after reports that Bobby’s TV star dad Jeff Brazier is reportedly to be keen to follow his son and join the cast of Strictly Come Dancing. The presenter has been a strong tower of support for Bobby as he’s starred on the BBC One dancing competition this year, watching and cheering him on as he competes on the show.

EastEnders actor Bobby, who plays Freddie Slater in the soap, has soared on the show and made it to the final this weekend. Now sources are claiming the 44-year-old star fancies a crack at going on the show for himself and is eyeing up a chance to be selected in next year’s line-up. Jeff has supposedly became a huge fan of the show since his son has been taking part and want his own opportunity to flex his feet and show what he can do on the dance floor.

The Mirror report a telly insider has told them: “Jeff has been approached to do the show in the past, and has always said no. But supporting Bobby and watching his experience has really changed his view and he has admitted he would consider it in the future.

“As Bobby’s dad, Jeff has had a front row seat to everything he has been through and how transformative it has been for him,” revealed the source. Bobby and Dianne Buswell will go up against Corrie’s Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola and Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin in a bid to lift the iconic Glitterball Trophy on Saturday (December 16) night.
