Coronation Street’s Maureen Lipman has revealed she’s bagged a new beau – two years after her long-term partner sadly died.
The soap star, 77, who plays Tyrone’s grandma Evelyn Plummer, faced heartbreak in 2011 when previous partner of 13 years, Guido Castro passed away.
The computer expert, who also suffered from Parkinson’s Disease, died aged 84 after he contracted Covid.

And now, Maureen, whose career spans over five decades, has struck up a relationship with a new “gentlemen friend.”
And things seem to going well for the pair as she’s even bringing him along to the NTA’s – where she is up for Best Serial Drama Performance.
In an interview with the Sunday Express, Dame Maureen revealed: “I’m going with my gentleman friend David – it’s a baptism of fire for him. The most important thing is that I find a dress.”
When asked about her unexpected relationship, she added: “It’s a gift for all concerned. It’s a gift and he’s been very nice. I’ve met some nice men in my life, some really interesting men, and we will see where it goes.”
After 13 years together, Maureen was left heartbroken when her partner Guido Castro passed away tragically in 2021.

The star said Guido, who was 84, contracted the virus days after receiving a dose of the coronavirus vaccine, but attributes his death to a form of Parkinson’s Disease.
Dame Maureen explained her long-term partner’s death: “He got Covid – it wasn’t Covid that killed him but it weakened him terribly.
“We don’t know how he got it or when or if he had it when he got the vaccine,” she said.

Addressing her final moments with him, she said “It was not a good way to go,” as she spoke in a joint chat with her Celebrity Gogglebox co-star Gyles Brandreth.
“You can’t express what it’s like not to be able to touch somebody when you’re in this [protective gear], and he’s in that, and then there’s a screen, and you can see them disintegrating in life, and you can’t do anything.
“And in the end, you know, the daughters and I were creeping in through a french window, and sitting there – masks, gloves, pinnies.”
Prior to her relationship with Guido, Dame Maureen was married to playwright Jack Rosenthal until his death in 2004.
The two share two children, Amy and Adam.
