Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson has been tipped as the bookies favourite to win this year’s Dancing on Ice.
The 27 year old impressed all four judges last week and landed himself on the top of the leader board alongside his skating partner Olivia Smart.
But bookmakers William Hill think Nile’s show-stopping performances could see him crowned this year’s champ.

Sharing their thoughts William Hill Spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “After another brilliant performance on Sunday evening, which saw him draw a score of 34/40 from the judges, Nile Watson’s price to win Dancing On Ice this year has narrowed even further.
“We are now 5/6 for him and partner Olivia to scoop the trophy this year – the first time a contestant has been odds-on to triumph in this year’s series.”
Lee added: “Keep an eye out for Joey Essex (11/4) and Carley Stenson’s (4/1) movements as the show enters its middle phase, although it would now take something substantial to knock the former gymnast off his pommel horse.”
Despite the positivity surrounding Nile’s performance, ice skating coach Daniel King seems to think Nile’s scores last weekend shouldn’t have been so high.
Speaking to Hear Bingo about contestants Mollie Gallagher and Nile, he said: “The most disappointing performances for me came from Mollie [Gallagher] and surprisingly Nile this week.
“Although you can see the improvements Mollie seemed to lack solo skating and character performance this week.
“As for Nile while it was fun to watch I believe his previous weeks were much stronger in both skating and performance, he is certainly able to achieve much more and for that reason I would have scored him more harshly.”
The news comes after Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu became the third contestant to leave the show after landing in the bottom two alongside former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer.
In an emotional skate off, both women appeared to break down when they realised it could be there final time on the ice in front of millions.
When Ekin-Su was told she was going home, she said: “All the other work I had and commitments at the time, this was my priority and I really gave everything to it.
” I love it, I fell in love with the ice.”
