Love Island star mortified after looking back at 'ugly' clips from show

Former Love Island bombshell Billy Brown slammed the ITV dating show’s editing process for making him look “well ugly” while he was in the villa.

Billy joined the show as one of the six bombshells heading into Casa Amor in an attempt to woo the girls and steal their from their original couples.

Despite garnering enough attention from the girls to earn himself a spot in the main villa, looking back, the 23-year-old is disgusted by the way he looks in old clips from the show.

“I think the show makes you look well ugly,” he confessed. “I actually thought I was alright then I saw clips and was like ‘what the f***’.”

During his time in the villa, Billy spent time getting closer to islanders Danica Taylor and Paige Thorne, but rumours were flying over a potential romance between him and legendary footballer Michael Owen’s daughter, Gemma Owen.

In an interview with Capital FM last year, Billy revealed that viewers weren’t “shown everything” that happened between him and the 19-year-old.

“I think you didn’t see everything with me and Gemma,” he revealed. “All the chats, everything she was saying that made me think, ‘I’m gonna start flirting as well’.

Billy added: “Because I wouldn’t start flirting with someone that wasn’t flirting with me, so there was a lot more to it, its crazy.”

But now speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Billy confirms that some parts of his budding romance with Gemma were “edited”.

“I didn’t like how they edited some parts, but it is a TV show at the end of the day. Like with the whole Gemma stuff, it wasn’t really like how it was played out,” Billy said.

“We’re all good now and everyone is still friends.”

In a previous interview with the Daily Star, Billy admitted that he’d “never say never” to rekindling things with Gemma after her split from boyfriend and fellow islander Luca Bish.

“Who knows, listen… At end of the day, we had a laugh in there and we just had that funny vibe, it was never really like I properly fancied her but everyone thought that.”

“But if I get along with someone it can come across like that, but if I see her at an event or something then we’ll see,” he concluded.
