EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Christmas Day murder victim as Karen’s exit reveals clue

EastEnders fans have bee speculating which character will die during the festive period at the end of this year.

In February 2023, an episode of the BBC ended with a flash-forward to Christmas 2023, where six of Walford’s matriarchs stood around a dead body in the Queen Vic.

The scene showed Denise, Sharon, Linda, Kathy, Suki and Stacey, now nicknamed, The Six, looking on in horror as they gathered over the lifeless body of an unidentified man.

Since then, fans have been theorising who the victim could be and believe a vital clue was revealed after Lorraine Stanley’s exit was announced.

Lorraine has played Karen Taylor for seven years and believe her departure means Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) will be the one to meet his end at Christmas.

Sharing their theories online, one person wrote: “The fact that Karen is leaving means it’s Keanu that dies at Christmas. Chantelle is dead. Kegan is gone so that’ll be her exit storyline. It also explains Sharon’s reaction in the flash forward”.

“Just had a theory. Ravi owes Phil a favour… What if Phil gets Ravi to kill Keanu at Christmas and that’s why Karen leaves,” speculated another.

A third added: “Wonder if Karen leaves in the new year because Keanu is the Christmas body?”

“Looks like it’s one of THOSE nights…Best of luck to Lorraine, Karen has been a firecracker of a character. Rather puts the spotlight on Keanu for Christmas Day though…,” echoed a fourth fan.

While someone else chipped in: “On the other hand, Karen’s exit has felt inevitable for a good few months now. Let Keanu be the Christmas corpse and call time on the family tbh – except Mitch of course, he can stay”.

Lorraine’s exit was announced earlier this week, with a source telling The Sun: “It’s always a tough call for bosses when deciding which characters will leave the soap, but it has to be done to keep storylines fresh and create new arcs for characters.

“Lorraine had a great run on the soap and was a real scene stealer with her comic timing and she has certainly made her mark with fans.”
