I’m A Celebrity… South Africa campmates, Shaun Ryder and Andy Whyment were rendered speechless after discovering they had far more in common than it initially seemed.
On a recent episode of the all stars series, the pair of public figures were discussing their Manchester roots, and it turns out they followed the exact same pathway to superstardom.
When Whyment, who plays fan favourite Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street, asked the Happy Mondays singer where he lived, the floodgates well and truly opened.

Ryder revealed that he resides in Telford but that he grew up in Clifton, attending the same primary and high school as the soap legend.
Whyment laughed: “The mad thing is, we live not far from each other, and the first time we’ve met is in the jungle.”
But despite building the blocks to form a lovely friendship, Ryder quickly put his foot in it, referring to his new buddy as his Corrie counterpart, Kirk.
Talking candidly in the Bush Telegraph, Whyment said: “We went to the same primary school, same high school – what a top guy he is. Then he called me Kirk.”
The episode also introduced iconic figures, Georgia Toffolo and Myleene Klass, and fans were just as blown away by the former Hear’Say singer as they were 17 years ago.
Subsequently, struggling to contain their emotions, her adoring fans flocked to Twitter to voice their opinions.
One wrote: “I really want to know Myleene’s secret. She has not aged a day.”
While another added: “Myleene Klass looking great frozen in time from 2006 I’m A Celeb appearance.”
A third, clearly perplexed as to how the 45-year-old looked so amazing, asked: “How the f**k has Myleene Klass not aged a single day in 20 years?”
