Katherine Ryan has opened up about her “relationship” with Prince Harry after meeting him at the WellChild Awards last weekend.
The mum-of-three has never been shy about her love for the Royal Family, and one of her famous running jokes is that she actually dated the youngest brother before she met her now-husband Bobby Kootstra.
Previously, the Canadian comic has branded him the “Duke of I Just Came-Bridge” and even chuckled he may have even filed a “restraining order” against her for some of her inappropriate jokes – despite never meeting him.

But that changed last weekend after the blonde bombshell met the Harry when she and her husband attended the star-studded event to celebrate the achievements of young people navigating complex medical issues.
On the eve of his grandmother’s death, the dad-of-two jetted back to the UK to host and present several awards to a sea of inspirational children.
It’s fair to say Katherine didn’t hold back with her cheeky jokes on the night, after she shared a clip of Prince Harry delivering a speech where she described him as her “ex”.
She joked: “Deeply awkward having my current husband and ex in the same room [heart emoji].”
Now, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, Katherine has opened up on the reality of her relationship with the young royal and what their first meeting was line.
After teaming up with meal kit company Gousto on their latest campaign – The Dinner Show hub – the funny-woman confessed: “I was a little bit nervous [about meeting him] because I have made jokes about Prince Harry but not at his expense. None of those jokes were at his expense.
“I previously called him the ‘Duke of I Just Came-bridge’ so I was worried that he might at some point have been told or seen my jokes because I don’t want him to feel uncomfortable. I’m just having a laugh.
“But he was great. He was wonderful and my husband was not threatened. My husband’s very comfortable with how much I admit I love Prince Harry, but he also knows that I’m not as in love with him as it seems.
“He doesn’t have to be worried in a room with me or anything. I like to think I speak for the women of the UK, I have to say.”
She went on to gush over the Prince and his commitment to the young people he supported at the event despite the anniversary of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
Katherine went on: “Prince Harry is the patron of the Well Child Awards and we all loved him, he’s very striking in person.
“And it’s amazing that even on the eve of the anniversary of his grandmother’s passing he was able to take the time out to be there, that’s how meaningful it was.
“I think he landed that day and then took the time to meet all the kids and say hello to everyone, and then he sat and had dinner and presented an award and we talked.”
The star couldn’t help but add one more joke at her fauxmance with Prince Harry, adding that he notably failed to call her before he returned to the United States.
She continued: “He was really, really involved with all the kids and the carers and the parents and he was so excited to be honouring all these young people.
“And then the next day was the anniversary of the Queen’s death and then I don’t know where he went, he didn’t call me,” she joked.
