1000-lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton fights tears as she reaches major weight loss milestone

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton was left fighting back tears after discovering she’d reached a major milestone in her weight loss journey.

The 37-year-old has been seen on her hit TLC show to struggle with losing weight, and was left in a special facility to help her stick to her plan. Sadly, there, she met her husband Caleb Willingham, who died last year before they got out.

But now, Tammy has been given some happy news as she reached her lowest weight since she was a teenager. In a clip posted on TLC’s Instagram, Tammy heads to see her weight loss doctor Dr Smith.

Fans will know she previously got bariatric surgery, and she headed in for a check-up. Despite her nerves, Tammy was given incredible news.

She was left speechless when Dr Smith told her she was down to 420lb. Speaking to the camera, Tammy said: “I was so worried about the number, but in six months I lost over 100lbs.

“The last time I weighed this low I was like 15, 16. It’s mind-blowing, like, I freaking really did this.”

But it’s not just her slimmed down appearance that has impressed fans. Viewers of the popular show shared their praise for Tammy’s new, more positive attitude too.

One person said: “Not only is she losing weight but her attitude seems to have changed as well. She is now much calmer and less irritable. Can’t wait to see you continue on your journey.”

Another person said: “She’s doing good you can tell the doctor is proud.” A third wrote: “Keep up the hard work Tammy! You’re doing beautifully in every possible way!”

Tammy has come an incredibly long way since she and sister Amy debuted on TLC’s 1,000lb-Sisters back in 2020. Just a few years ago, Tammy was at her heaviest weight of 725lbs, almost 52 stone.

She has battled food addiction and, after some weight loss, was finally approved for bariatric surgery. Now, she’s out of the wheelchair she was confined to and fans can’t wait to see her journey continue.
