Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari has disclosed the sad truth behind their split.
After being married for 14 months, Sam Asghari decided to call it quits and officially filed for divorce from pop sensation Britney Spears.
The two lovebirds began their romantic journey in 2017 and seemed hopelessly in love. Asghari proposed to Britney in 2021 before tying the knot in a swanky ceremony at Britney’s California residence on June 9, 2022.

However, things took a turn as he lodged a divorce application in August 2023. Sam disclosed they chose to separate after merely “growing apart”.

He only had good things to say about his former spouse. He revealed: “It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on.”
In a chat with People magazine, Sam promised never to utter anything negative about his time with Britney. He explained: “I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other.”
“That’s something I’m never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that’s always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life.”

Sam cited irreconcilable differences when he initiated the divorce proceedings against Britney.
After the breakup news hit the headlines, the pop princess took to Instagram to tell her side. “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together,” she shared.
“6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but… I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business ! ! ! But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly ! ! ! “.
Britney also gave a big thanks to her fans for their love and said: “I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that. I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses!!!”.
