Just last week, Celebrity Big Brother fans were left wincing as the tension escalated between Fern Britton and Strictly pro Nikita Kuzmin became involved in a bizarre ageism row over a striped jumper.
But after speculation about the pair still being at each other’s throats, 26-year-old Nikita was keen to clear the air as he appeared on Monday’s (March 25, 2024) instalment of Loose Women. The CBB runner-up got candid as he revealed what he really thought during his encounter with Fern and seemed to get carried away as he swore on live television.
Nikita explained: “The thing is I did not forget I was being filmed but I thought most of it was going to get cut. So I was sure some bits, which after when I came out everybody was like so you knocked out Fern…

“I was like s**t.” Everyone on the panel was left gasping in shock as Katie Piper reminded the guest that he was live, saying: “We can’t cut that it’s live telly.”

Blushing in embarrassment, Nikita was quick to apologise and Ruth Langsford joined in before the former elaborated: “I was, in that moment, confused, perplexed, bamboozled, everything at the same time, I was really confused on what we were talking about but the most important thing was we cleared it up in the end.”
“We probably misunderstood each other and I’m always really sorry if I offend anyone in any way. I never have bad intentions with anybody”, he added. Speaking about a potential exit from Strictly Come Dancing, the professional dancer’s was categorical: “Oh no, no I hope not, I love Strictly. Strictly is the only reason why I am here.”
“Strictly is the only reason I could do Big Brother in the first place. They are my family I love every single one of them I hope to be back every year up to when I can or they want me.” While his segment was shaken up by a small slip-up, it was enough for Nikita to confirm that he had found a way to get along with Fern, which she also claimed during the Celebrity Big Brother live final.
“I think we just misunderstood each other”, she’d then said. “There was something that happened, and I misunderstood him, and then he misunderstood me. It’s all good now. He’s fantastic.” Fern and Nikita’s falling out caused a heavy stir on social media, prompting the Strictly star’s girlfriend, Lauren Jaine, to speak out in favour of her other half.

The university graduate and budding model defended how Nikita handled himself in the house, particularly after an altercation landed Fern in the Diary Room for a medical check. Much like Nikita and Lauren, Fern cleared up the entire situation, stating that her co-star had bumped into her accidentally while playing a game with fellow housemates.
“He was so sweet. He got me to the medic room and everything”, she remembered before adding: “I think he’s a lovely, lovely man, and we would have been fine, but accidentally we had some misunderstanding.”
