Dancing on Ice star Roxy Shahidi has admitted the real reason why she agreed to sign up to the figure skating competition was to “get a big bum and a new kitchen.”
This weekend, the Emmerdale star is set to take to the ice for the first time with her professional skating partner Sylvian Longchambon. He will be joined by S Club singer Hannah Spearritt and Celebrity Big Brother star Ryan Thomas on the ITV show.
Also taking to the ice will be boxer Ricky Hatton, Olympian Greg Rutherford and former Love Island star Amber Davies. Next week, the final six skaters will take to the rink to show off their impressive skills in front of the star-studded judging panel.

Returning to the panel is head judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean alongside professional dancers Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo. Also returning to the show is Holly Willoughby following her break from entertainment TV following her exit from This Morning.
She will be reunited with her close pal and TV presenter Stephen Mulhern who will be taking over hosting duties from Phillip Schofield. Ahead of the opening show, the soap star has shared what she hopes to get out of the competition.
In an interview with Daily Star and other press, the 40-year-old confessed that she hopes to get a “big bum” after dedicating months to training on the ice. She told us: “Well I’ve said it before, I want a new kitchen.
“I also thought it would give me a really good bum so I thought sign me you, do you know what I mean? Get paid for a good work out and a new kitchen but then you start and it’s absolutely exhausting, like it is a lot of work.”
The brunette beauty went on to reveal how much time and energy goes into the training sessions she does three times a week. She explained: “You think two hours a day, fine. But it’s not just that, it’s the getting up, stretching, driving all the way there and then doing two hours and a little stretch after.
“Then you desperately need to eat because you’re always dehydrated and starving, then you’ve got to drive up. It’s a full day and it’s always freezing and suddenly you’re spending three hours of your life shivering and it’s awful.”
But it’s not all doom and gloom on the ice, as the TV star shared how much pride and joy she has been getting out of the process so far. Roxy continued: “I think you do start to have a real sense of pride as you do start to progress even though you’re only making small steps.
“So that’s been really rewarding. I’m really enjoying it even though I’m not as good as I deep down hoped I would be, I’m still really enjoying the journey.”
