This Morning’s chef Gino D’Acampo seems to be living the ‘single life’, despite being happily married for a long time.

After being married for over 20 years, they are still head over heels in love. It turns out the TV chef has a very unique way of keeping their romance alive.

“You need to balance your married life with your ‘single life’,” says Gino, who has three kids with Jessica: Luciano, 21, Rocco, 19, and Mia, 11, he told OK!

He explained that while they have family time together, they both have holidays by themselves and with their friends. Gino added: “It’s important to have your own life. You can’t be part of a couple’s life if you don’t have your own.”

Gino first met Jessica when he was 18 and working at Sylvester Stallone’s Mambo King restaurant in Marbella, where she was a waitress. The couple tied the knot seven years later.

Gino reckons that seeing less of each other means there is more to chat about when they get back together.

“I can be away for a month and I will talk to my wife once a week for about 20 minutes. Then, when I come back, we can talk about it all,” he says. “Some of my friends talk with their wives for an hour and I’m thinking, ‘What the hell are you going to say to your wife every day for an hour that you can’t say when you’re in person? ‘”.

Gino and Jessica believe that not talking too much on the phone when they’re apart is what keeps their love alive. With Gino adding it’s “all about trust”.

He explained that he has dinner with his female co-workers but said he wouldn’t need to fake a work lunch to have an affair. Gino added: ” It’s just dinner with another human being.

“If I wanted to have an affair, I could do that without the dinner and everything. You know, people can’t get their heads around it and will say, ‘Oh, my boyfriend is going out for dinner with another woman.’ “First of all, we are all equal. What’s the difference?”

The duo have raised their little family over the years, but Gino has no intention of expanding his brood.

He told OK! “Oh I’m done. The time I have is tied to my job, so the more kids you have, the more you have to split your time between each family member. I don’t want to divide my time any more than I already do with my three kids and wife.”
