But away from the show, presenter Maya has had a few whirlwind romances herself. Daily Star has taken a look at romance history and who she’s currently dating now.
Stormzy
Maya’s most highly publicised relationship is with British rapper, Stormzy. Maya first dated the Vossi Bop hitmaker for four years before they split up in 2019.
But in August 2023, it was revealed that the pair had rekindled their romance when they were spotted holidaying together in -Hydra, Greece. The pair have since gone public with their romance, appearing together on the red carpet and sharing loved-up snaps on their Instagram pages.
Stormzy, whose real name is Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr., previously opened up on his relationship and revealed he wants to keep things more private now. He told British Vogue: “We were so public the first time round.
“Somewhere down the line, my spirit started resisting… So I’m not gonna speak on it,” he told the publication.
Although there were allegations that Stormzy was unfaithful, which he has always denied when he first parted ways with Maya, other reports claimed that the pair wanted to focus on their careers. Maya previously told The Sunday Times: “We were so young when we met, just beginning our careers.
“I was starting at MTV. He’d not even released a single at that point. We were just little babies.”
It’s said Stormzy’s mum Abigail Owuo played a part in getting the pair back together. A source told The Sun: “Stormzy is really close to his mum Abigail who has always been Maya’s biggest fan. Abigail wants the best for her son and motivated him to make amends with Maya.”
Ben Simmons
In 2022, Maya split from her NBA player fiancé Ben Simmons. The pair had a whirlwind romance which led to Ben handing Maya an £800,000 engagement ring, and they were engaged for eight months.
Despite things looking promising the presenter and the basketball star, 26, were said to have struggled with their busy work schedules as well as maintaining a long-distance relationship. Ben is currently based in Brooklyn, New York, meanwhile Maya is based in London.
An insider told the NY Post at the time: “While they both care for each other so much, they truly gave it their all and realize that they just come from two different worlds.” The source also mentioned that it was “one of the hardest decisions of their lives.”
They added: “It’s been a difficult time for them. They now understand they don’t have the time they thought to dedicate to this relationship.”
Leonardo DiCaprio
Last year, Maya was rumored to be seeing Hollywood icon Leonardo Di Caprio, 48. The pair were spotted partying together in London on two different nights, during BAFTAs weekend in February.
A source told The Sun at the time: “They have both recently come out of long-term relationships so neither of them are rushing into anything. They are having fun and seeing how it goes.”
However, Leo later denied the rumours that were swirling. Maya also went on to slam reports she was dating the Titanic star after she was seen wearing a ‘Leo necklace’.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, she wrote: “I’ve been minding my business on holiday & said I wouldn’t respond/pay attention to any of the silly stories anymore but you need to stop now, that is literally my star sign. We are not dating. Move on please.”
Drake
Canadian rapper Drake was reportedly looking to start a romance with Maya and allegedly first contacted her in 2018. However, reports claim she ignored his messages as she was still seeing Stormzy at the time.
In 2020, award-winning musician Drake also included Maya’s name in the song Only You Freestyle, featuring British rapper, Headie One. Talking about her looks, Drake branded Maya a “a ‘sweet one” in the tune.
An insider told The Sun in 2020: Drake definitely appeared to have a soft spot for Maya and late in 2018 he started following her on Instagram out of the blue. She totally ignored him and didn’t follow him back as she was with Stormzy. Even when she split with Stormzy it’s not something Maya wanted to pursue and she has left it.”
