Margot Robbie dazzles in glitzy plunging gown held up by nothing but luck

Margot Robbie made sure all eyes were on her as she slipped into a shimmering gown at a recent event.

The Barbie legend attended the 2024 AACTA Awards Presented By Foxtel Group at HOTA (Home of the Arts) and it’s safe to say she was the star attraction. She looked like a walking diamond in her glorious gown.

The 33-year-old was dripping in glitter as she slipped into a corseted diamante dress. Her slender frame was cinched at the waist, with a structured off-the-shoulder neckline adding some extra drama.

The fabric cascaded over her bust and hips before tumbling to the floor and resting at her feet. As for accessories, Margot kept things simple with only a ring on her finger.

But she was wearing plenty of jewels anyway, as every single inch of the dress was embellished with thousands of individual rhinestones. Not to distract, Margot went for a simple makeup look too.

Rather than having a dramatic eyeshadow look or bold lip, she kept it quiet with a gentle shimmer on her lids and a soft nude lipstick. Her best accessory was her dazzling white smile.

Her appearance in Australia at a glam event is a far cry from her recent trip to Scotland. However it sounds like it was less dramatic.

Margot spoke at a SAG-AFTRA screening of Barbie about how she’d overheard a group of blokes on a stag do debating the film in a remote Scottish pub. And they had no idea that Barbie herself was sat right by them.

She said: “I had this brilliant experience. I was in a pub in the middle of nowhere in Scotland and I listened for about 30 minutes to a group of guys on a bachelor party discussing the Barbie movie, not knowing that I was sitting two or three feet away from them.”

She added: “It was just truly fascinating. There were people at the table who refused to see the Barbie movie.

“One guy was like, ‘Dude, it is a cultural moment, don’t you want to be a part of culture?’ And the other guy was like, ‘I’ll never see it,’ and by the end he did want to see it. It was a whole thing.

“I wasn’t going to go up to them, but then I did,” she recalled. “At the last minute as I was walking out I went to their table and I went ‘Thank you for seeing the Barbie movie’.”

She added: “It was very funny, they lost it. It took a full minute for them to realise and I was practically out the door and they went ‘Ohhhh’.”
