Music legend MC Conrad has sadly died.
Tributes have flooded in for the music pioneer who was an iconic name in the drum and bass world. Conrad Thompson was branded with an “unmatched legacy”
His agency, Clinic Talent, wrote: “One of the most recognisable and best-loved voices in D&B, he leaves behind him an unmatched legacy. Conrad will be deeply missed by all of us and by all of you who were touched by his performances over the years.”

Fellow musician DJ Zinc described him as a “legendary voice” and a “nice bloke” before stating that he is “gutted”. The star wished Conrad “rest easy mate”. DJ Mag’s editor Carl Loben tweeted out: “And we’ve lost MC Conrad now – way too soon.”
“His soulful lyrical flow in tandem with LTJ Bukem, letting the music breathe, was the antithesis of a lot of MCs at the time. Latterly getting into production and running his own label, he’ll be sorely missed. RIP.”
Thompson’s friend Karis O’Hara wrote: “Conrad…my friend…we chatted weeks ago about collaborating on a track and then he went quiet. Only to hear the devastating news today…he was kind to me, especially during Covid. Thank you for being a light and the words and music. RIP MC Conrad, you’ll be missed.”
Conrad died at 52-years-old and his passing has been confirmed by multiple sources, including the star’s family and friends.
There has been no confirmed cause of death as of this moment. Clash magazine has paid tribute to the musician and wrote: “MC Conrad was a crucial figure in the advancement of drum ‘n bass, first entering rave as a precocious Midlands youth. Blending his Black Caribbean heritage with new electronic sounds, [he] helped guide jungle into the multi-faceted form of DNB we know today.”
The publication continued: “A magnificent MC, his stature only seemed to increase with time – a true legend, he formed an incredible partnership with LTJ Buken, releasing a string of seminal anthems.”
Clash continued on to say that Conrad was “continually curious about music,” which he produced under the name Con*Natural. He also helped “lead the digital first label Resonance” which helped “platform new talent”.
