Neighbours recently revisited the death of Britney Barnes as Leo Tanaka’s connection with Krista Sinclair took another turn.
Pregnant Krista was left upset after she overheard Leo making some harsh comments about her parenting capabilities when he rebuked Sadie Rodwell for leaving his young daughter, Abigail, in Krista’s care. Leo was embarrassed when he realised that Krista had heard his remarks and he is soon attempting to mend his friendship with her.
Apologising to Krista, Leo explained his overreaction by telling her about how he tragically lost Abigail’s mum, Britney, in the Erinsborough storm disaster in 2022, leaving him ultra-protective of Abigail as a result. However, when Leo accidentally called Krista “Britney”, his dad Paul Robinson realises the true nature of their relationship.

Paul suggested that Leo sees Krista as a way to make up for all his failings with Britney – an idea which Leo immediately denied. Not accepting Leo’s protests, Paul warned Krista about Leo’s feelings, and Krista was left shaken by the idea that Leo may see her as a project, rather than wanting a genuine friendship with her.
