Piers Morgan vows to save Strictly and bring back scandal-hit BBC show’s sparkle

Piers Morgan has vowed to “bring back the sparkle” to Strictly Come Dancing after their controversial scandal.

The beloved dance competition is currently embroiled in a bullying scandal which has shocked the nation. It comes after professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima were booted from the show last month.

Following their explosive departures, former celebrity contestants have come forward with various complaints. Graziano is reported to have kicked former Love Island star Zara McDermott during training.

The Italian star admitted his “intense passion and determination to win might have affected his training regime.” Meanwhile Giovanni clashed with his partner Amanda Abbington, who sensationally quit the show halfway through the series.

She later branded his actions “unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean”. The long-serving dancer vehemently denies her claims. Now, the former Good Morning Britain star has called out the “whiny brats” who have complained about the show.

Writing on X – formerly known as Twitter – Piers said: “Memo to Strictly Come Dancing execs: given the snowflake virus is now threatening your sparkly show’s existence, I’m prepared to save the day by being a contestant but only on one condition: that whoever trains me is so tough, brutal and uncompromising that I win.

In his latest column for The Sun, the Talk TV host claims he could save the beloved ballroom competition. He told fans: “I’m ready to bring back the sparkle!”

The broadcaster warned future contestants: “If you enter a show like Strictly, you know what’s coming. You’re not signing up for an easy, quiet life working as a library assistant.

“Yet now we’re getting all these whiny brats crawling out of the woodwork to bleat about how mean and nasty their dancers were. Most of them said nothing publicly at the time and milked all the huge attention that came their way for big financial gain and enhance celebrity status.

“But they seem intent on wrecking the magic of the show that made them richer and more famous, and which is beloved by so many millions of Britons. And I’ve had enough of it.”

It comes as the professional dancers train for the upcoming series as speculation swirls around which celebs will be joining the cast this autumn. Earlier this week, the show suffered more drama when an “intruder scaled the walls” of the training studio.

The dancers were gathered in their training studios when an unknown and unnamed man “scaled the wall”. According to reports, pro dancers Kai Widdrington and Johannes Radebe were spotted enjoying lunch with their security when they rushed to protect their co-stars.
