Strictly’s Aljaž Škorjanec breaks silence after drunken co-star bust up claims

Strictly Come Dancing’s Aljaž Škorjanec has addressed claims he had a drunk confrontation with a female co-star.

The 34-year-old dancer slammed claims that a bust-up occurred between him and a female co-star during the show’s arena tour. Aljaž said he was devastated when the accusations hit the headlines last month.

Speaking about the scandal for the first time, he told the Daily Star: “It’s difficult to read. Of course it’s hurtful. It’s a bit out of my control. All I can do is have my chin up and move forward. That’s the best thing to do.”

Škorjanec insists he is not guilty of being abusive. The dancer is adamant he has always behaved well.

He said: “Strictly changed my life when I was in my early 20s. It gave me a chance to show my passion and love to dance. It is such an honour. I’ve always seen it that way.

“It just humbles you. All I’ve ever tried to do is my absolute best. “All I’ve ever tried to do is my absolute best and contribute to Strictly in the best and the kindest possible way.”

Aljaž has returned to the show this year and is partnered with Love Island beauty Tasha Ghouri. In recent Strictly news, Chris McCausland admitted that he “can’t feel” his legs after tricky rehearsals.

The comedian, who has made history as Strictly’s first blind contestant, has been partnered with dancing queen Diane Buswell. The pair have planned a jive along to the Wayne’s World theme tune for Move Week and while on ITV’s This Morning, the record breaker confessed he’s been feeling a bit worse for wear.

“I feel like I can’t feel my legs and all I can feel is my legs at the same time. I feel like I have been riding a horse for a month, it is killing me,” exclaimed the contestant. While speaking about how he learns to dance by using his sense of touch, Chris said the process can be “mentally draining”.

Aljaž and Tasha are hoping to dance through to the final

“There’s a lot of description and sometimes I have to get on my hands and knees and feel what her feet are doing. She has got muscles in the lower part of them legs that I didn’t even know existed! Sometimes when all else fails, she gets on her hands and knees and just picks my leg up, and puts it where she wants. Like I’m one of those bendy Spiderman figures!”
