The TV presenter sought emergency help live on This Morning as guest Sharon Marshall’s voice packed in mid-show, leaving the pair flustered.

Dermot O’Leary and Alison were concerned as Sharon, who could barely get through her lines, coughed her way through the intro to her segment. Sharon explained that she was “fine” but the worried pair were clearly not convinced.

The 53 year old presenter prepared herself to discuss recent soap storylines but ended up spluttering an apology to the viewers: “So sorry my voice has completely gone. It’s hay fever, don’t worry!”

Alison then asked Dermot: “Have you got the first aid kit?” before he reassured: “We’ve got a lot of stuff.” Alison then joked that they should pass Sharon some mints to ease her suffering, reports the Mirror.

Then The X Factor legend Dermot chimed in: “Don’t worry Shazza, I feel weak myself, dosed up to the nines.” Alison also piped up: “Maybe we should do it instead [the soap update] she can just chill, maybe massage her feet, she needs a bit of love.”

Unsure Dermot responded: “We don’t know what we’re doing, we’d be all over the show,” as Alison agreed that was “very true”. Sharon regained her composure and joined the chit-chat on the sofa to discuss the soapland stories.

Viewers of Emmerdale are gripped as Caleb Miligan (played by William Ash) found himself in hot water due to Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) wicked organ theft plot.

Caleb was knifed and promptly wheeled into surgery – Dr. Crowley (James Hillier) battled against the odds to save him in a life-or-death transplant surgery.

This Morning took audiences through new footage where Caleb starts piecing things together after clocking onto the kidney medication. As the segment progressed, Sharon spilled the beans on Sonia Jackson’s (portrayed by Natalie Cassidy) impending farewell to the beloved BBC show EastEnders.

Sonia’s jaw dropped when she came face-to-face with her estranged dad on her doorstep in a bombshell episode. With both Sonia and fictional sibling Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) set to bow out of the show soon, fans can expect their climactic scenes to play out in the coming weeks.
