Joe Wicks forced to quit PE lessons after injury as he unveils his replacement

Body Coach star Joe Wicks will no longer be able to partake in his YouTube PE lessons, which have been keeping the nation fit and healthy during the coronavirus lockdown.

The 33-year-old fitness fanatic has been forced to step back from his sporting activities for the time-being, after having a second surgery on his hand over the weekend.

But fear not, the PE lessons will still go ahead as Joe revealed he has drafted in the “hottest substitute teacher ever” to replace him.

Writing to his 3.4m followers on Instagram, Joe explained: “I’ve had to call in a supply teacher for Monday’s #pewithjoe. It’s my beautiful wife Rosie.

“She’s kindly agreed to come on the live stream with me to demonstrate the moves as I really need to let my hand rest for a few days now I’ve had the wires removed.”

Joe then went on to say of his 28-year-old wife: “It’s totally out of her comfort zone so I’ve got so much love and respect for her right now.

“She’s always there for me when I need her the most and she knows how much it means to me that I don’t let anyone down with these daily workouts.

“I’ll still be leading the session and coaching you all but Rosie will be demonstrating the exercises for you. Let’s wish her good luck on her debut PE class.”

Joe was forced to stay in hospital on Friday night after after suffering severe hand pain, which saw him placed on a drip.

The fitness fanatic was given surgery on his hand yesterday, which he said had been “throbbing and pulsating like liquid hot magma” beforehand.

He gave an update to his Instagram following yesterday when he woke from surgery, and thanked Kingston hospital for looking after him.

Joe said: “Surgery complete. Wires all out. Infection cleaned up.

“They gave me a general anaesthetic which was awesome so didn’t feel a thing and was sparko.”

Joe initially had minor surgery on his hand in March, and until last month, he had been wearing a bandage, following an operation were wires were put in to his hand.
