Gemma Collins sobs as she opens up about missing her mum in lockdown

Gemma Collins broke down in tears as she admitted she misses in her mum as they isolate separately due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

In the upcoming episode of Diva on Lockdown, the 39-year-old felt the strain of being kept apart from her beloved parents as she opened up about her longing to be reunited.

On the second episode of the ITVBe show, set to air on Sunday, the TOWIE star, who is staying with brother Russell, is all smiles when she celebrates Brain McFadden’s birthday in quarantine, however, her mood dips following a conversation with mum Joan, 65.

During the emotional scene, the reality TV star sobs as she admits she’s missing her mum and opens up about her coronavirus fears.

Kicking back on her pink sofa, the Essex native is chatting to Joan about their plans once the lockdown is lifted.

Speaking to Joan, whom she is very close to, Gemma said she would treat her to a shopping trip to the garden centre.

After they have a natter, the TV personality hangs up, and remarks: “Oh, I miss my mum!”

Breaking down into tears, she says: “What is she doing? I won’t see her over Easter. I know that she’s missing us and it’s the same for a lot of people…”

“It’s just so weird with everything that’s going on. Another further 831 people have died, too early to lift the Covid-19 lockdown and I just hope that people this weekend.

“It’s just upset me seeing my mum, because I know she’s in the garden and she could have been with us out there.”

She added: “I am one of the fortunate ones. I haven’t died, my family haven’t died. It’s really scary, so yeah.'”

In happier scenes, the star takes part in an Easter Egg hunt around the garden as she fills up a bin bag with chocolate treats.

Going head-to-head with her nephew and sister-in-law, she remarks: “I’m a natural born winner in life, and I find competitive people weird.”
