I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans accused Vernon Kay of having an irritating habit on Wednesday evening, after he discussed his various encounters with celebrities.
Certain viewers suggested the former Family Fortunes presenter, 46, was guilty of “name-dropping,” as he boasted about the time he met Hollywood star Tom Hanks.
Chatting with fellow campmate Giovanna Fletcher in the pump room, the podcaster quizzed Vernon about his presenting stint on T4.
Reflecting on his gig as an interviewer, Vernon revealed his favourite celeb encounter was with Forrest Gump star Tom Hanks.
Dad-of-two Vernon said: “He was amazing, he was just the nicest fella.

“I interviewed him for The Polar Express but he was so nice and at the end I said I know this is really unprofessional, is there any chance you can sign this DVD cover of Forrest Gump for me.
“And he’s like no problem, so he signed it to Vernon, good luck with the new gig, Tom Hanks.”
Meanwhile, with a good deal of eye-rolling over the conversation, viewers watching from home accused Vernon of name-dropping to excess.
One said: “#ImACeleb drinking game – drink every time Vernon name drops an A-lister celebrity he’s met or spotted in the supermarket. #imacelebrity.”

“Vernon loves a good name drop don’t he,” a third penned.
And a fourth wrote: “Me waiting to see how long it takes Vernon to name drop a celebrity he seen in his local Argos.”
“Clang clang clang… lots of name dropping Vernon,” fumed a fifth.
Vernon’s story continued, with the TV personality bringing up major film director Ron Howard in a dazzling Hollywood name drop as he reminisced over an encounter on the Eurostar.
He said: “I’ll never forget it, I can see it now, Tom Hanks saw me and he just turned to Ron Howard and he went ‘oh this is Vern, he’s alright he is’.
“I’m like, ‘He remembered my name!’ and he just turned around and said Vern, oh he’s a good guy!”
