Sky's Jacquie Beltrao says scan shows no evidence of cancer in emotional update

Much-loved sports news presenter Jacquie Beltrao broke some happy news this afternoon as she celebrated her latest health update.

Sky News star Jacquie, 56, announced her latest scans have come back with “no evidence” of the disease amid an ongoing battle with stage four breast cancer.

In a video, Jacquie held up a sign which read: “Breaking Sky News news.”

Jacquie begun: “So, I’ve got some breaking news, scans are in…”

She then paused to show a card which read: “No evidence of cancer.”

“I can’t believe it, I just can’t believe it, look, I know it’s not forever but I’m going to take it for now.”

The presenter went on to add: “A bit of good news at last and I’m so happy!”

Jacquie shared last year she had been told she had the disease for a second time after initially receiving a diagnosis back in 2013.

She shared a more in depth update on the social media site as she gave more details about her battle with the illness.

Jacquie added: ”So very grateful to my oncologist Muireann, my surgeon Mr Sharma, my guardians and guides.

“I know this isn’t permanent things could have changed again by my next scan, that the drugs stop working or whatever but…. for now in the here and now this is the best I could hope for.”

And she shared another more difficult piece of information with her fans after sharing the good news.

“I lost my beloved Mother-in-law Anna yesterday – it was a horrible day, this news, my scan news came two hours later and helped us all.

“Anna would have been so happy and relieved. I’m sure she is still and is raising a glass in heaven as we speak, I would have loved to have shared this news with her,” she added.

Jacquie found out her cancer had returned after she found a lump in her breast during the first lockdown.

She told followers at the time: “So, during lockdown I took my own advice, did a check, found a tiny, tiny, little lump just here.

“Had it checked out and a biopsy straight away and it turns out it’s grade three breast cancer, much nastier than the first one I had.”
