Friends star Courteney Cox looked unrecognisable in a throwback clip to her first ever TV advert as she made history as the first person to say “period” on air.
During Saturday night’s (5 February) instalment of The John Bishop Show, the Scouse comic welcomed Hollywood legends Hugh Bonneville and Courteney Cox onto the sofa as they talked about the impact of their TV stunts early on in their career.
As the raven-haired beauty opened up about her new role in an upcoming thriller, the ITV show couldn’t help but show a flashback to her acting days before she became a household name on the American sitcom.
And it’s fair to say the actress looks unrecognisable as she promoted the menstrual product Tampax while dressed from head to toe in classic 80s workout gear.
As she recalled the time when she first filmed the advert, Courteney remembered how she was the first person on television to say the word period and confessed how she was embarrassed about it at the time.
In the clip, she can be seen sporting a pair of bright purple tights which she wore over a lilac leotard with a matching pair of leg warmers.
The star went on to layer a sleeveless crop-top over her sportswear which she finished with a pair of white trainers ahead of a gruelling workout in the gym.
The TV star rocked a much shorter look back in the 80s as she showcased thick luscious hair into a beautiful pixie cut as she candidly discussed the difficulties of a menstrual cycle each month.
The mum-of-one couldn’t help but cringe at the throwback clip as she hid behind her hands in embarrassment while the rest of the audience watched the ad on air.
