The Weakest Link fans fume at Melvin Odoom's wrong answer to 'simple' maths question

Melvin Odoom starred on The Weakest Link on Saturday night and left fans fuming over one answer that he got completely wrong.

The 41-year-old British comedian, radio DJ and television presenter appeared on the BBC reboot of the popular show that used to be presented by Anne Robinson, and is now headed up by comedian and presenter Romesh Ranganathan.

Melvin, who starred on Saturday night’s show (February 5) is best known for presenting on BBC Radio 1 alongside Rickie Haywood-Williams and Charlie Hedges.

The popular star left viewers fuming, though, when he answered a pretty simple question, getting it incredibly wrong.

And he later admitted that his family will be “ashamed” of his performance.

Melvin was asked: “In maths, what is 29 minus 26?”

After mulling it over momentarily, the star then replied: “Four,” when the answer is in fact three.

After being voted as the weakest link by fellow contestants, Melvin said in his outro VT: “The pressure on this show is next level.

“The music, the lighting, the voting. It was just too intense for me.”

He then said: “I think that when my family and friends see my performance on The Weakest Link, they are going to be ashamed of me.”

One viewer of the quiz show penned: “Watching Celebrity Weakest Link is painful.”

Another then penned: “Flicked over to the weakest link. ‘In maths, what is 29 minus 26?’ The fella Melvin gives himself a good 10 seconds to think and then blurts out ‘4’ yikes.”

While a third tweeted: “Oh dear Melvin.”

A fourth then said: “Melvin hasn’t a great record in quiz shows #TheWeakestLink.”

While a fifth fumed: “Wow. That could be the worst answer I’ve ever heard on a game show.”

And a sixth finally penned: “A guy legitimately just got asked on Weakest Link ‘in maths what is 29 minus 26’ and he answered 4. FOUR.”

Maths isn’t everyone’s strong point, and we think you did great Melvin – especially under such high pressure!
