Emmerdale viewers were recently delighted when Ryan Stocks and his mother Charity Dingle were unveiled as the new owners of the Woolpack Pub.
Speaking about the big news, Charity Dingle actress Emma Atkins said: “Getting back behind the bar will be so exciting. And knowing they’re going to put Charity and Chas together again, it’s just a dream come true.”
Charity had previously run the pub with cousin Chas, and they are just two of the owners that the iconic village venue has had throughout the years – along with a whole host of sexy barmaids too.
To celebrate a new era for the Woolpack Pub, Daily Star has taken a look at some of the sexiest barmaids to have worked at the venue throughout the years – and some of their biggest storylines.
Bernice Blackstock
Long time village resident Bernice Blackstock delighted punters at the Woolpack Pub, after her mother Diane Sugden took up ownership.
Diane was one of the longest ever owners of the pub, and during this time, Bernice worked as bar staff for over four years between 1998 and 2002.
During her time working behind the bar, Bernice had feuds with residents including Tricia Stokes, as well as giving birth to a daughter called Gabby with local vicar Ashley Thomas.
However after struggling with life in Emmerdale, Bernice left and decided to work on a cruiseliner – leaving daughter Gabby in the village.
Fans were delighted however when 10 years later, Bernice made a shock return to the village – which included multiple affairs with residents including Andy Sugden, her desire to own The Woolpack again and becoming one of the residents involved in the terrifying siege of the pub in 2013.
Priya Sharma
Fun loving Priya Sharma was a Woolpack barmaid for over two years from 2011 to 2013, after making a return to the village when the character was recast.
Along with being one of the most memorable Woolpack barmaids, Priya has certainly made an impact on the village too – with plenty of dramatic storylines that have had viewers hooked.
These included her relationship with David Metcalfe and an affair with the fiance of her best friend Leyla Harding, as well as confessing her love for the recently departed Ellis Chapman.
Louise Appleton
Louise Appleton owned shares in The Woolpack Pub alongside Diane Sugden and Val Lambert, after originally working as a temporary barmaid in the pub.
Her dazzling smile wowed visitors while she poured them a drink, and she was one of the village’s most friendly Woolpack faces.
During her seven years in the village, Australian Louise dated a wide variety of locals including shady businessman Ray Mullan, as well as dating older man Rodney Blackstock.
She was also involved in memorable storylines including the arrest of Viv Hope, with Louise protesting Viv’s innocence against her fraud charge.
However, her friendly aura was only around for a few short years, before Louise departed for Australia with fiance Jamie in 2008.
She is often fondly mentioned by other Emmerdale residents however in their conversations, with fans hoping that Louise may once again return to the village.
Alicia Metcalfe
One of the Woolpack’s longest serving barmaids was Alicia Metcalfe, the sister of resident Leyla Harding, from 2010 to 2015.
Arriving with her husband Justin and their son Jacob, she quickly settled into village life – including a lot of drama with sister Leyla, after Alicia warned her not to attend their mother’s funeral.
She also became embroiled in a number of flings while in the village, including dating Andy Sugden and beginning an affair with Declan Macey.
However when Alicia actress Natalie Anderson revealed that she was pregnant, the character was temporarily written out of the show while Natalie was on maternity leave.
Viewers saw Alicia sent to prison for attacking Val Pollard before returning one year later – however, she left the soap for good in 2015, when Alicia decided to live in Portugal with her family.
Lexi Nicholls
Carrie Nicholls’ younger sister Lexi arrived in Emmerdale in 2007 and quickly found work as a barmaid at The Woolpack.
Her two-year stay in the village came with some huge revelations, including the discovery that Carrie was in fact her mother – not her sister.
She also became embroiled in a villainous plot to steal a £50,000 necklace, as well as a relationship with Ross Kirk, before going on to marry Carl King.
However after Carl admitted to Lexi that he never really loved her, the couple decided to divorce and Lexi left the village for good in 2009.
Maisie Wylde
Another newcomer to find work in the Woolpack was Maisie Wylde, who worked in the pub for over two years between 2009 and 2011.
Her bombshell arrival included kissing Andy Sugden and telling her family that her marriage was over – less than six weeks after the big day.
She also dated Ryan Lamb, but after her father’s body was discovered at Home Farm, the investigation was linked to Ryan – much to Maisie’s horror.
However it was later revealed that Nathan framed Ryan for the murder.
Less than one year later though, Maisie left the village – leaving Ryan distraught about losing the love of his life.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm
