Strictly’s Ellie Leach admits ‘hardest part’ about doing gruelling dance show

Ellie Leach is loving competing on Strictly Come Dancing – but she’s admitted it’s not all smooth sailing.

In her day-to-day life, the popular actress is winning over the nation on Coronation Street. Having exploded onto our screens in 2011 at the age of just ten, viewers have watched her character, Faye Windass, go through bullying, teenage pregnancy, meeting her father for the first time and much more.

But after 14 years on the cobbles, the 22-year-old decided she needed a new challenge and opted for the world of dance. And while she’s used to theatrics, Strictly is a completely different kettle of fish.

Speaking to Daily Star at the Pride of Britain Awards, Ellie opened up on the most challenging part of training. She also admitted that she’s actually never danced professionally before.

She confessed: “The hardest thing so far is just learning how to dance! I don’t have any experience, so Vito is trying to teach me from scratch. So that’s been really difficult.

“Having to change dance every week and forget about the last one and just learn the new one. It’s crazy, but you know we’re doing it, and hopefully we can continue.”

Ellie entered training, having never hit the dancefloor in her life. However, under the tutelage of Vito Coppola, she’s going from strength to strength.

The 11-time Latin American Champion, 3x world championship finalist and European Cup Winner has unlocked a talent that Ellie never knew she had. And it’s reflected in her performances.

In week one, the ex-Corrie star, performed a jive to ‘Can’t Tame Her’ by Zara Larsson, and wowed the judges. Her impressive score of 29, bagged joint second place only behind bookies’ favourite Nigel Harman.

She returned the following week and produced an even better routine. Ellie has been impressing the viewers week by week, with many deeming her a front-runner already.

Ellie has already floored many of the judges with her impressive moves – and under Vito’s guidance, she’s only going to grow.
