Pete Davidson took aim at Kanye West on Saturday night as he celebrated his first return to Saturday Night Live since leaving the show last May.
The 29-year old, whose brief relationship with Kanye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian was the subject of intense media coverage when the pair hooked up in October 2021, made an hilarious dig at the rapper in an SNL sketch. In a segment called ‘I’m Just Pete’ – a spoof of Barbie movie song I’m Just Ken – Pete thrilled fans as he went topless, donning pink trousers and a blonde wig to imitate Ryan Gosling’s version of the tune.
Serenading the audience, Pete sang: “I’m just Pete, looking like a meth head on the street.” He then poked fun at his “b***hole eyes” before continuing: “And I like jugs. I’m mentally ill and I’m on drugs. But hey I’m still in Super Bowl commercials.”

Making light of his numerous past relationships, Pete added: “Yet I never sleep alone at night.” It was his next verse that stole the show, however, as he turned his attentions to Kanye, 46.
“People online still call me Skete because I’m a guy whose name I can’t say legally,” he crooned, before an image of Kanye appeared on the screen behind him and was met by tumultous laughter from the audience. Viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) after the programme to hail the gag, meanwhile.
One commented: “HA! I knew Pete would take a shot at Kanye! Well played #SNL!” Another wrote: “Pete Davidson kinda funny idk. Him also calling out Kanye West was funny too.”
A third added: “Travis [Kelce[ cameo and now we get a I’m Just Ken ( w/ quick Kanye pic) parody? Total win.” And a fourth declared: “Everyday I wait for the Kanye bar from Pete. Finally.”
Putting jokes to one side for a moment, Pete then went on to portray his somewhat rarely-seen serious side, condemning the atrocities in the Middle East. “This week we saw the horrible images and stories from Israel and Gaza,” he said.
“And I know what you’re thinking, who better to comment on it than Pete Davidson? I know something about what that’s like.” Pete lost his dad, Scott, in the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City in 2001.

He continued: “I saw so many children suffering, Israeli children and Palestinian children and it took me back to a really horrible place,” he said. Nobody deserves that, especially kids.”
Scott was a firefighter who was responding to the blaze and was last spotted running up the stairs of the Marriott World Trade Centre just before the building’s destruction as the Twin Towers collapsed. Pete subsequently found out via TV that his dad had perished and has been battling PTSD since the tragic incident, and recovering through trauma therapy.
